G36E + Medic.. Most effective?

Partly due to its companionship with the Medic class I feel that pound for pound the G36E is now currently the best overall gun in the game. Extremely accurate with relatively low recoil, fairly large clips, and it comes with the power to heal yourself by definition. I really think it should have gone to assault and think it needs some tweaking in the hands of medics. I just don't think they should be effective killers because of their very effective healing/reviving abilities.

On a side note does anyone feel that Medic having grenades and AT not having grenades is a little bit odd? Personally I think they should have given every kit grenades.

Well I think the combination of burst fire for CQC and Single shot for med/long range make a very effective combination in both situations.

the 3 round burst initially made me not like the gun, however, with constant use, i've perfected the 3 round burst use. its deadly because of its low recoil and high accuracy. and in terms of CQC or long distance, the g36e is capable of doing both. this is my main gun, and spending the 30 extra bucks for special forces is worth it for this gun.

you dont need to pay 30 bucks if all you want are the unlocks. Just get a friend who has special forces to log into your account, and he will be able to unock the guns.

i initially fell in love with the g36e... but for me i found that even the m16 was better for long range shooting...i switch through the 3 guns constantly...m16 when i cant be bullshittin around...l85 when its just, meh easy pickins... i will admit however sumtimes in Pwnage mode i will switch to the g36e cuz its up-close knockdown power is beautiful

That's quite tricky on your part. I wonder if that would work to fix the problem i have with my new account. It's not offering me the L96A1 sniper rifle as an option to unlock. I do have the M95 unlocked. I do have the required rank. I do have SF installed and patched up. You will see that i have the weapon unlocked with this name http://bf2s.com/player/45519378/. However, this one http://bf2s.com/player/64683979/ doesn't. I do have the unlock still available and just keep hoping that it will fix itself.

Your idea might be a way around this problem though i'll have to check into it.

EDIT [on the topic...i still prefer my L85A1 over the G36-E]

g36e is pretty much balanced with the l85 after the patch. Ill use the l85 for big maps, but the g36e for close quarters maps.

You forgot the poll option "there is no best gun in the game."

The G36E can tear people apart at medium range with its highly accurate burst fire mode, but relies on semi-auto for long range. My resolution is high enough that I can get along without a scope.

Critics of burst-fire fail to mention that it can resemble highly accurate auto fire if triggered fast enough.

True that the G36E is deadly accurate, but don't forget that 1.2 made the L85 somewhat less of a joke. Even more than I used to, I find myself choosing the L85 over the G36E when mid- to long-range sniping is more likely than close- to mid-range firefights.

According to the BF2S Wiki anyway, there is NO reason (other than liking the sight picture) to choose the M16A2 over the '36E.

One of the reasons I bought SF was the G36E.
When in single shot mode, it makes a very effective long range weapon.
I took out guys that were approx. 350+ mtrs away, followed by the standard "H4X!","41Mb0T" crying.
But since the 1.2 patch I started using the Sa80/L85A1 again, and I am impressed with it's performance.
It is a good sniper killer.
But the G36E will be my favorite medic rifle, although I think that the medic weapons overall are pretty good.

I can still hit people from a distance using burst, it's so accurate. I don't think the medics should have an underpowered weapon because it wouldn't be fair to them, everyone deserves power in the game. It may feel like an assault weapon to you because it is actually classified as an assault rifle, all medic weapons are.

The PKM sadly is the best gun, thanks to 1.2

Hell I can even shoot and kill people while moving with it.

And when you go prone, you can get some sniping action in too!

G36e is a good weapon for sure, but in my opinion the AK-101 and L85 own it, AK for its rate of fire in close combat, and L85 for its usefull scope.

By having my friend log into my new sniper account http://bf2s.com/player/64683979/ it fixed the unlock bug i was having. In addition to getting my L96A1 unlocked it also gave me the 2 extra unlocks for SF. I still only plan to unlock nothing more than my sniper rifles. However, your idea about how to go around the SF purchase to unlock SF weapons was what i needed to fix a stupid bug i was having.

This is my favorites list; 1 G3, 2 G36E, P90. Why are people bagging on the P90? It is accurate, has 50 round clips, does single shots, and just sounds badass. The damage is low though, but still. It makes AT fun to play again. I hit an APC with a sraw and 3 people jumped out. I proceeded to pick all three of them off with the P90. I love it.
