okay so i was at this gaming place, playing bf2, with two of my mates. and i got switched onto the other team whilst they stayed on the same team. btw we were al sitting next to each other and could see each others screens, then i saw that my friends were up the top of the tv tower, so i went to sneak up on them, (killing two guys on the way up) then i sneaked up on one with the knife and then my friend saw me so i shot him with my pistol and then this other random guy then i jumped off the building...

i dont think this is padding/cheating/ghosting etc, what do you guys think?

Yes, it is cheating on your friends (u peek at their monitor), but not IN the game!!!!!
When I play with my clan MIT, we always use Ventrilo for teamspeak.

Sometimes we enter a game and going to be split.
I always listen what the other clanmembers are doing and hunt them down.

Well, in your case probally not. But if your friend were to say "hey there's two dudes up here with me" then that is ghosting, and technically cheating.

Of course it isn't cheating, as you said - you killed a bunch of random guys just to get to your buddy. Imagine killing the same bunch of random guys to go steal the chopper...
