Praise or hate thread? If EA got it right the first time we wouldn't need to differentiate between the 2 threads! I will like the 1.21 patch if it is a seamless fix and doesn't screw up anything else or take numerous phone calls or emails to EA for help. I do feel that for all the pain and anguish that EA has put the BF2 community through that they should release EuroForces (EF) free of charge for downloading and only sell it to those in stores or for those who haven't downloaded any other BF2 software prior to the release of EF. LET'S SING THE PRAISES OF THAT if it happens!!!!!

OT: but I read your post, I had the same problem with my ATI 9250 and I found something in this forum that helped me out and got me back playing until I got my NiVIdia 6800.
what you have to do is extract the new 2.0 shaders from the 1.2 patch and put in the old 1.4 shaders from previous versions 1.12 and older, it's pretty simple. First you need to download a copy of BF2 demo you can do it for free off of any site that has it, you need it for the extraction of 1.4 shaders cache folder. Next step after download is get on the BF2 help forum AARRGG right here on UBAR, there is a step by step how to that I'm positive will work to get you going. The name of the thread is "A possible fix for ATI 9XXX and 92XX vid card users." If you have any questions just PM and I will get back to you, see you on the battlefield!
BOT: I like the new patch for a couple of reasons but mainly just for the fact that the only piece of equipment that had no equil is now balanced like the rest of the game. That piece of equipment would be the aircraft, I have spent more than one round getting slammed by these untouchable's. Atleast now your SAM goes in somewhat of the direction you fired the damn thing. All in all I like the new patch for the most part! With that being said I am sure that patch 1.21 will be fully tested by the release date and I will enjoy the improvements.
