But i have had only 1 commander do as you suggest. It worked beautifully. I normally ignore other planes and helicopters and focus on the flags. If one of our flags turns white, I bomb it ASAP. Usually got 2-3 kills. Most enjoyable if chopper is hovering over the flag. If I notice a convoy headed to flag, I will fly away to return in say 15 seconds, and BOOM 3-4 deaths and flag defend. I always seem to get the flag defend honours when I am flying.
Having patted my self on the back, let me say that having the commander order an airstrike made the job alot more efficient. Didn't use VOIP because he spoke swedish or dutch, just attack and defend. He would spot foot soldiers that I couldn't so our flags almost never turned white. The airstrikes were pre-emptive.

I very limited play time pre-1.2 but I was around enough to know that planes ruled the day. Now I play wake and I literally laugh out loud everytime I even see a chopper/jet in the sky. Some pilots have gotten real good at using the terrain and being smart bout their routes of aproach, but even that only gives them a 50-50 chance against the AA. They might get to make one, maybe two runs before they are blown to hell from AA or MG fire. You seriously cannot be fucking still bitching about planes and choppers. Give it a rest for chist sakes.

Well, i still play patch 1.12
(yes, there are some few servers left if you reinstall the game and run 1.12 again)
and i whore a lot on the essexx! The AA on the essexx is easy to smash with the jet, BUT:
If there`s sitting a skilled player in that AA, i`m dead before i reach there! Even with the 1,12! The AA rockets rarely hit me in front ofcourse, but the machinegun does.
This is how you do it with the AA`s:
Aim at the jet coming towards you...
Then left click to use the machinegun at first (you all know the left button on your mouse right?)
Hold the button and be sure to aim right at it...
2-3 seconds: DEAD!
If you dident kill it, you now have a good chance of hiting it with the AA rockets as it is flying away from you...

Yes, I'm a noob. I just try to learn anything... spending most of the time waiting for respawn. Because it's "fair' that a guy with no skill and just good joystick, fast machine and good Internet connection (nothing more, I'm sure) gets me killed everytime I jump into AA. Well I don't think you read my post correctly, see from patch 1.2 I happen to be one off those pesky AA - rapers with the Su-30/Su-34/F-15. And why? Because when ever you get into that AA position my bombsight displays a rectangle which, for me, means free kill!Bernadictus wrote:
