I was SOOOOO close to getting my 100 PLA score as I was shooting my AT at a fully loaded black hawk (I'm at 82), but the damn thing was too close and it went straight through, and hit OUR TANK and I got three Tks...

Yep. It is annoying when that enemy jeep is going to run you over at full speed and the AT missile you've just fired goes straight through.

this actually happens with every single weapon in bf2, it's not so noticable with the automatic ones though. the most noticable is the knife where sometimes you will have to stab a person 2 or 3 times in order to kill them. i believe it's caused by packet loss, you press the fire button and you computer knows you did that so it plays the animation but somewhere along the lines the information doesn't get sent to the server, so the hit doesn't count. that's why the rockets appear to travel through things.

edit: also on another note, this was around before the 1.2 patch.

yeah, i know what you mean with the knife thing, i've been killed so many times like that, i'd knife em and they would turn around and kill me........ so now i just go for a headshot with a pistol.

I am fairly certain that this problem is just lag related.
Your client reloads before the server registers that you are reloaded. So you see that you are reloaded and fire, but the server thinks that you are still reloading.
So you get firing animation and the missles goes out, but by then the server has recieved that you are finished reloading and then sends you the info that you are reloaded and that is why you have a rocket in your tube.

Definately a new bug, but nothing to do with firing imaginary rockets.
