If u do that (not being Sgt Major) u will be outranked when applying for Commander by any guy even with much less points than u. Anyways, if u become a MGSgt and then get the badges u wont get promoted to Major; the requeriment is BEFORE the promotion, not after.
Also, for 1st Sgt only all COMBAT Badges are required. So, when u hit the 20k and one Combat Badge is missing u, u wont get the "Advanced Rank".
For Sgt Major only all TRANSPORT badges (so to call them) are required.
So:
20K: Master Sergeant
Get all basic badges (NOT CORRECT); If u hit the 20k with all ur basic badges u will be a 1st Sgt. Coz u fill the requirement since u have all ur combat basic badges, never minding if u have the others or not).
and if:
50K: With all basic badges?
if u hav'em before the promotion: Sgt Major.
But beware, bcoz u said u dont wanna have a star like everyone else, but hitting 20k with all basic combat badges will make u wear a diamond like everyone else. (1 Sgt).
I'd strongly recommend u to stick to the program, son. Why do u wanna be different to everyone else? Do u think ur special or something? U better lighten up!
