on my favorite server, which is a 24/7 wake, they have a rule to where you can't switch teams...PERIOD

so when you win as the chinese, then get autoswitched to USA for the next round...you can't switch back to china even if it's before the round starts...or you'll get kicked

I got kicked  the other day  for being china every round (because china was winning almost every time as usual) and when it happened the message said (jjrp02 don't switch teams next time)

now...I see the logic behind the rule...the admins don't like teamswitchers and I see that...but I think that as long as you don't do it in the middle of the round I think it's okay...I think we should have the right to choose the side we want to play as long as you choose before the round starts...

agree with this rule or no?

Hmmmm i agree, if its the beginning of the round I dont see any major harm done. not like your getting an advantage or anything.

Yea it really hurts 3-4 people who are in TS/Vent and want to play togather, and get pt on different teams. We get that problem alot, not threatened to get banned but jsut full servers, and getting auto bounced to the other team. I think if its in the begining of the match, you should get to switch.

I know last night I was playing cant remember the map name I dont play much sf untill recently. Anyways its the one with the missle silo the russions and re bels are fighting over. Anyways it started out a couple maps before that I was SAS and we lost like every round, then we moved to that map, and we where the rebels and lost the first round. It put us as the russians as we wont 2 in a row but they where all close. Next round it wasnt evne close, we zerg rushed them and pushed them back to the very northern base, we had like 150 tickets left and they had like 15, it then I guess alot of rebels quit and team balance kicked in and I got switched to the rebels and we lost like 5 seconds later.

I wander if in that situation if I get stuck with a loss or a win, since I was Russian for 20:30 of the 21 minutes the game lasted.

the map you were talking about I believe is Surge...

and sorry bud..you got a loss....it's the team you END with...not the one you spend the most time with...

I know sometimes I just happen to join a server..and I catch the VERY END of the round...like I click join game and the next round started...but I still get a loss because I logged into the server and it put me on the losing team.....I have even referred to my stats to confirm this....

In a typical situation I would say switching before the game starts is ok...however, in this case it seems like the biggest reason you wanted to switch was to ensure or improve your odds of getting a win versus being a stout Chinese fan...in this case i would say not ok, play as USMC and turn the tide, make a difference, pull out the win, it is more rewarding.

I DO play as USMC....especially if the games are close

but during this stretch...China was winning like 200-0 EVERY ROUND...and while I try to keep my play balanced and I don't stat pad..but I don't want want to have my stats suffer that badly since not only would I be losing...but my KDR and SPM would obviously be suffering....and I do care about these things because I'm going after awards (like PLA medallion, WCR, etc.)

if games are being close (like 30-0 or 15-0) then yeah, I'll play both sides...but not when one side has won 15 times in  a row by no less than 150-0...then naturally I'll play that side that wins every time

On most maps, switching in the start of a round is cool.  But especially on Wake, I think the Chinese have an advantage (after 1.2), and a coordinated Chinese team will win a majority of the time.  So, to not switch to US every other round gives you an advantage on that map.  US can and does still win, but its harder now.

So for that Wake 24/7 server to have that rule, in my opinion, is a good thing.

I know that it does suck if you have friends you want to play with, and I think switching when you first join the server should be ok, but not every round.

personally i think the rule has its advantages and disadvantages. On wake yeah i see there point. But your complaint is almost null and void as you have about 1,000 other servers to choose from. If your team sucks nutts and you don't want to play with them then find another server. I try and fight it out in those situations but at times it takes more then one person to turn the tide of the battle. I'll go a few rounds with the wing nutt guys and if they keep loosing all the flags i cap or can't do anything then i leave. But the thing is I at least try and get things going for the team. If i can't get them to follow suit (without having to say anything) after a few rounds i'm gone.
