Knife bug after 1.2 or does it less damage?

While going for my expert knife badge I noticed I had to stab some people a lot of times to kill them. Is this just a bug or does the knife do less damage now? In the cases where several stabs where necessary, I saw and heard the hit, so it wasn't just me giving the air a good stabbing.

PS: sorry if this has been discussed before, but didn't find anything relevant with the search.

i havn't come up with this "bug". Only sometimes it won't register as you've killed him, or makes it look like you've missed completly. I've just managed to get the expert knife, and i've had that happen so many times ;p but i guess it was worth the effort. :p

Pre-1.2 it was only like 10% where I had to hit more than once (where you hear the stab sound but no death). Now it is everytime I stab someone, i have to stab at least one more time. Luckily I've got my expert knife already

So the stabbing just don't register then. Does this happens to bullets also? I mostly use the DAO-12, so I wouldn't really notice

I find it happens often when trying to knife a sniper. There is no way you could have missed the shot, and the stabbing sound is played, but the target doesn't die. Other times I can be in a knife fight and stab what I thought was air, and get a kill...

i think this only happens on certain maps, like on karkand i kept having to stab twice, but when i joined a sharqi server, i was knifing normally again. w000T go teh knife!

Yea I have had trouble trying for expert knife and after attempting to kill a guy and hitting him 2 times in the back of the head [or neck or back] and him not dying I gave up.

It just to do with latency between the players' & the server, like the C4 not detonating on a click before 1.2, it would just pull out another bag or chuck another pack, or do the animation of this & detonate. Likewise you can knife someone, the sound comes up, but because of the latency issue they dont dies & you have to try again. This also occurs with commanding, players with high pings cant always be spooted properly unless they remain still for a long period of time. I once knifed someone, had them start shooting me & suddenly fall down dead from the knife I thought had missed... wierd :s

I noticed it when I went for my knife badge, it only happened once mind you. Was a support I stabbed him, he went 'uuhn' the little dusty could appeared, but he didnt die, then he turned around and PKMed me in the face.

Yeah I've heard of this and likewise with Havazn I'm glad I got my exp. knife badge. I've never experienced this, my record of knifes-till-kill is the less common-butnotrare 2. Most of the time 1 though.

How could they fuck this up? Damn, i've got a ping of 30 and my targets are not moving and i mostly need 2 hits. This sucks big time. Hope 1.21 fixes it.

There was a funny situation. I hit someone with a sniper rifle, no hit indicator, he rus away and 1,5 seconds later i get the indicator and he dies during his run.
