I don't really play this game to improve my stats, more to have fun and enjoy it.

But recently I've been setting myself targets so I can be a better team player and what not.

They are:

Getting my K/D ratio above 1.

Getting my  W/L ratio above 1.

Getting my SPM above 1.5

Getting Sniper rifle ratio above 1.

Keeping a positive aviator and armour ratio.

----

At one point I was over 1000 deaths ahead of kills..I've now reduced that number to around 600 and improving as my deaths per round has gone from 11 to 8 and my kills per round from 6 to 8.

I'm 11 wins away from getting a 1.0 ratio (that doesnt mean I'll be changing sides at the last second, I went 5 rounds without a win thanks to a completely hopeless team) and I think my highest difference was about 100 wins behind.

My spm isnt that high compared to the best players, but did take a major hit when I started playing just wake 2007 all the time. Since it hit rock bottom, It's been on the rist ever since and hopefully I'll keep it that way.

I believe playing with better players has helped me too.

It takes a while, but if you have the time and commitment it will happen.

Sounds like what I have been doing for the last month or so. I had a rough time getting started and now have to work at making up for all that lousy newby play I did. Aside from the occasional run for a badge or two when my qualifications are met it seems to be a great way of bettering my play. Oh and I am aware that my stats still are not that good but at least I have fun.

Good luck man.  Nothing like trying to be a better player, and not a stat monger.

if you dont like armour why not try play alot with the support kit in karkand its pretty easy to get like 30 kills with under 10 deaths per round with the new and improved PKM

They are:
Getting my K/D ratio above 1.
Play commander, 20/50 kills a map , no deaths

Getting my  W/L ratio above 1.
Not your fault if yer unlucky, although squading up helps team a lot.

Getting my SPM above 1.5
Depends on your class u play , I suggest support and throw supplies everywhere, (again squad up)

Getting Sniper rifle ratio above 1.
play commander, select sniper before u spawn, problem solved.

Keeping a positive aviator and armour ratio.
I dunno how you wouldnt already have this, its a tank for gods sake! :p

Last but not least, forget stats fullstop. They are easily manipulated, play for fun and badges! :p

It is good to have achieveable goals for which to strive - regardless of what the endeavor is.

Here are some things I've done to help me out.  I've had to do a serious evaluation of what I like and don't like as a player in order to come to some conclusions.

1.  I don't like flying, so I stay away from maps that allow air-power to dominate.  Specifically, I have troubles with Oman, Daqing Oilfields, Kubra Dam, and to a lesser extent, Wake, Dragon Valley, and Fu She Pass.

2.  Be honest about the kits - Medic and Support WILL generate more points for you in all likelihood.  I may be better at firefights with assault, but the revives and heals of the medic will help my overall score.  Support is great for CQC, and you get all those resupply points.  You aren't whoring - you're just maximizing a kit's abilities.  In short, Medic is that kit that helps SPM the most for me.  Support is the kit that helps my k/d the most (unless I'm in armor).

3.  Squad up when possible.  Move as a team from flag to flag.  You can really rack up the points on Karkand, Sharqi, Warlord, Mashtuur, and Ghost Town by doing this.  Leviathan and Devil's perch are other cherry maps for this along with Nightflight.

4.  Be smart.  If someone is spawn raping at the Hotel at Karkand, for heaven's sake, DON'T spawn there!  Look at the map and see where your teammates are.  Spawn there and help them.  Or, be nasty and spawn at the square as SF or Anti-Tank and go pwn the spawn raper.

5.  Hardware.  Get a good vid card and turn your settings down low.  Less likelihood of lag and stuff will help you out big time.  Other than the vid card, a GOOD gaming mouse is essential.  Something like the Logitech MX-518 or the Razer Diamondback.  The on-the-fly dpi control and polling speed really help, IMHO.  Think really hard about how your keys are mapped for the game.  You don't have to stick with the defaults.  I bought something that I can map for the various kits I like to play.  I think it helps out a lot.

6.  If you die, and you notice the commander's assets are "yellow," then spawn as an engineer, get in a vehicle, and go fix 'em.  Nothing is worse than a commander having to drop a box to fix something that you can fix in a few secs.

Just some ideas I wanted to share.  I'm not very good at this game, but if you check my stats, you can see that I've improved a little bit over the past few weeks.  Good luck.  If a doofus like me can do it, you can too.

Best advice you can give. You need to play with your brain. Do not spawn right next to the front unless you know it is safe. Also try to think of where you will have the advantage in every opportunity. Think of surprise and defence, as you will have the jump on them. Keep an eye on the map and where the Commander calls out "enemy spotted"; they might be right next to you.

The only thing I can suggest to keep improving on your SPM, K/D and W/L is to use vehicles a lot. I know for one that my K/D and W/L would be a lot lower if not for all the time I spent in planes. It's just too damn easy to get killed on foot, and too hard to influence the course of a round. In a jet however, I can go 60-0 and single handedly win the round for my team.

Talk about n00b stats.  I've also been struggeling to dig myself out of the hole I created and I've been improving quite a bit over the past month or two.  But when I first started playing I would play for 3-5 hours almost everyday and I totally sucked.  But since I was playing so much, and playing so poorly, I dug a deep hole in no time.  Then I got deployed to Iraq with the USAF and didn't play for about five months.  Now I've been playing again for about two months but only maybe 1-2 hours a day.  Making progress but very slowly.  Mainly I'm trying to get my k/d above 1, improve my spm, and trying to learn to fly jets and choppers better.  I'm a pretty good gunner...just not so much on the pilot end of things.  Anyway, good luck with the goals.

I Was exactly the same with my k:d, but ive been armor whoring big time on Karkand. Have not been on foot there for about 3 weeks.

The difference in k:d was 1200 or so, its now at 600 or so.

Not only that but ive been trying to get my good conduct medal, but wankers keep running in front of my tank and I end up running over them.

No, I own in a plane and single handedly win every round with planes. Here is how the map rotation goes: Wake? 2-0. Oman? 2-0. Daqing? 2-0. FuShe? 2-0. Dalian? 2-0. Dragon? 2-0.

I also own in a heli. Sharqi? 2-0.

It's not hard to carry a team when you own hard in helis and jets. Then again, you probably wouldn't know, and assume I team switch or play on stacked servers. So, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Edit: LOL, just looked at your stats. Yeah, no wonder you don't understand. Keep learning to play, maybe one day you'll get it.

Bieleve me u can do it go check out my stats, in december i had a .70 K/D, 1.4 spm and a shitty WLR. Now only a couple months later i got a 1.11 k/d, 2.1 spm and 1.09 WLR

Edit- Vehicles are proballey the best way to get your KD back but what worked for me was playing alot of SF with my trusted sniper/specops kit. I used to go 25-1 using the sniper rifle on ghosttown a couple times a day

If you think armor is slow and boring then you probably don't play it right. Yes, armor is slow compared to transports, but the actual gameplay with armor can be fast and intense when you're trying to take out 1-2 AT guys while trying to keep a distance from a spec-ops guy that's trying to C4 you. Add a helicopter and another armored vehicle to the mix and you've got yourself some intense action.

To date, my best armor conflict was on 64 player Karkand. I was in a tank and I came head on into the enemy's tank, 2 LAV's, 2 AT guys, and a spec-ops soldier. I pulled out alive, but let's just say that there was a lot of luck in addition to skill involved. I did manage to position myself though between targest so that one of the enemy LAV's actually fired his missile at the other LAV. Threw smoke, greased the AT guys, road killed the spec-ops guy, and got a 2 shot kill on the enemy tank. After some quick missile dodging from the remaining LAV I waxed him. Oh how I wish I had Battlerecorder for that encounter.
