My opinion is, just because you cant stay in the air doesn't mean no one else can. I can still fly a whole round without getting a death. 1.2 made it more fun to fly because you actually have to try now and use more strategy.Citizen One wrote:
... can any of you, that being that you are not whores, claim to actualy have flied one for longer than 5 minutes in one round? fuck no. What is your opinion?
I upgraded my ram and load before anyone else on the server. This means, any vehicle I want. If you want vehicles, try doing the same.
I've flown the F-18 for an entire Kubra map before. Unfortunately that was only once or twice. However, most of the time I can fly for over 5 minutes.
I got my Arial service ribbon the other day, on cleansweep.
Good pilots = lots of kills, no complaints
bad pilots = die after a few minutes, cant avoid AA. come complaining on forums.

I like the jets as they are... 50% of my deaths in jets are for crashing into trees , choppers or other stuffs, so it's rather easy to stay alive if you can avoid that
Erm Real planes have fuel tanks lasting more than 2 minutes. hardly realistic is it.servo wrote:
I think the jets should run out of fuel after 3 or 4 minutes in the air, and you have to LAND it to refuel, instead of just low-flying the runway. It's the bottomless fuel tanks that make air support unbalanced.
If we go that route for balance, tanks jeeps and APC's should all stop movin after like 2k's or something
What the fucking stupid post.Citizen One wrote:

Tanks run out of gas? Vehicles run of gas? Humans get tired? Its almost as stupid as the original poster's.
How about engineers now throw out food bags & cans of petrol
Cool that sounds good I was just talking in general terms, could have been any portable AT weapon, the SRAW was just the first that popped into my head, but you understand my point, in real life everything is different to the game, you cant knock out the tanks tracks in BF etc etc etcbeerface702 wrote:

^^^ I agree
if planes should have to land to refuel, then armour should have to go back to an uncap/main/furthest away spawn point to refuel....oh and every shell should be loaded manually into a tank when rearming and a tank should have 4 crew men....oh yeah and SRAWs should kill armour in one hit...and....
Bet you wouldn't like that would you??
you'd protest that its only a game! a game you say!? and thats my point, its a game, get better, adapt and get over it
takes 2
i saw a demo at a miltary /airshow of power thing in Cali a few eyars abck. they fired a iraq RPG at a decommsinhed Abrams took 2 to do much damage. they show american SRAW equv at it aswell.. def fucked it up. but the crew could go on and it was still moving.
But that sounds like a very cool demo to be at!
damn i wish you could knock out tank tracks. 2 shots from the SRAW/Eryx to take out the tracks. Id be happier than a monkey with a coconut. I hate armor. I dont think its overpowered, I just dont like it when it kills me.
Aircraft as they are seem to be pretty balanced. They arent as powerful as they were prepatch, but they arent completely useless (like helicopters *almost* are).
If we are going to talk about realism in the airwars (balanced with game balance), the best thing they could do is make the map 10x bigger, with a disconnected airbase. Sorties have enough fuel to fly to the main map, bomb something with precision guided bombs (or at least a CCIP, no more guesswork) and return, land, wait 20 seconds to reload refuel and repair, and try it again. Enemy interceptors could try to knock them out of the air between the airbase and the main map.
Oh yeah, and make the aircraft physics correct. That alone would keep so many people from flying....

I want to thank EA for making everyone have to be better pilots.

My mate Arcangel76 said he saw a jet do a loop through the tunnel underneath the Kubra Dam. Flew through it, then made a perfect arc and came back through it again.
I only glanced at the thread, and I'm hoping people have mentioned a joystick as being the best instrument for flying.
On the Kubra Dam thing, has anyone seen it and if so, did you frap the motherfucker? I'd pay to see it!

Yes its easy and you dont need a joystick to do it. I have flown the fighter , bomber and heli thru it. Its fun to have your friends in it and fly through. Give it a try sometimes all you have to do is line it up.XstrangerdangerX wrote:

I'd like to see you try flying a bomber through it with a plane on your tail Signing your own death certificate.arson wrote:

The Kubra tunnel is pretty easy. I can do it without damage with the fighter pretty much every time. With the bomber I'm more like 50-50 to even get through it. It's not a regular practice of mine, but on occasion, I've used that tunnel to evade the other jets on the map. I've had a lot of n00bs try to follow me, and I only wish I could have gotten the kills for those.
As for getting shot down in like 5 minutes, there are two important things you need to do if you don't want that to happen. The first is that enemy jets should always be your #1 priority. If you don't shoot them down first, then they'll take your kindness and kill you anyway. As shooting jets has become easier, it's now much more important to take them out than it is to try and not aggravate them so that you can both just bomb the shit out of your teams (which was my previous strategy, to only attack when attacked, because I could survive an attack pretty much every time). Second, is to take out AA, as your second priority. Those AA turrets are targets begging to be hit. If you know where they are on the map, then you should know when someone is in one and be able to take it out (you should always be on bombing mode so you don't alert other jets when you spot them, you want to sneak up on them. This also lets you see the AA even if it's outside of visual range.) AA vehicles are a bit more tricky. Against them, I've found it best to jink as you're coming in and bomb them. If you do both of those, then you can own everything else on the map.

If you die so easily in jets, why do you keep getting in them? Seriously, that is dumb. Go man the stinger and contribute to dicouraging plane and choppers. Ground pound with the best of us and just forget about planes. I do just fine without them.
totally agree... there should be a flight training b4 u even fly i think... so noobs cant even get to "their jet" if ur good in a jet (like bearz) stay in the jet, it really helps if ur team can let the really good pilots do the flyingdeject wrote:

It,s going to keep one....jets are fucking useless....well, the title must be Bad Pilots are fucking useless....
pwned. jets are one of the hardest vehicles to use, if u dont know what ur doing. heres a few tips for those who wanna be a great bf2 pilot but still suck now. Get out of my fucking jet and go practice offline.<{SoE}>Agamemnar wrote:
