Ok I have DSL set up with my computer, the ethernet cable runs to my computer(the computer i play bf2 on). Another person in my house uses a laptop that has an 802.11b internet reciever thing, that can leach my connection. The problem is, anytime this person uses the internet, even if they are just surfing webpages, makes BF2 totally unplayable for me. I have only thought of 3 things that might solve the problem without cutting the person off: 1) Getting a cable connection instead since it is faster, right? 2) Try to share the connection with an 802.11G card  3) Somehow limiting the amount of resources that person can leach from me(dunno if this is even possible, if it is I dont know how to do it)

thanks

best bet is to get a gateway router, that has multiple ports plus inbuilt firewall.

the one i have from d-link splits the connection up equaly between the computers connected to it, so as my connection is 1.5 mb, when my comp is the only comp on i get the whole thing, when second comp is on it devides it clean in half and the comps basically work on two seperate connections of smaller size. no one comp can take more bandwidth than the router allocates.

750kbs a second is still plantey fast enough for bf2 so it is fine for me.
