So I will probably get flamed for saying this, but they should limit the number of mines an engineer can put down to 2 or 3.  2 because that is what snipers get with the claymores, but I think 3 since thats what it takes to block a road.

I only say this because lately maps are covered in mines.  You can't drive, cause you cant get anywhere and you cant hoof it, cause there are claymores everywhere.  Also, the other teams APCs and/or Tank sit right on the other side of the mines, so it makes a wall that you can not pass...

Hell NO!!! Engineer is great how it is! ur just saying that because ur too dumb to look for mines on the roadway and get out to disarm them or wat for someone to come and disarm them.

Isn't the idea of mines to prevent enemies from entering/passing an area unharmed?  Hate to flame ya, but "makes a wall that you can not pass" sounds like the purpose in the aforementioned strategy.  I'd recommend rethinking your assault startegy.  Bomb, C4, AT, TV missle, anything to clear off some of the armor, then send in the engineers to clear out the road.

If engineers can put down all those mines, I want to be able to set more than two claymores at a time again. Not that I'm complaining about engineers, having played them for 50 hours.

I never get killed by mines, they stick out a mile away most of the time. And the ones that dont are easy enough to find when you see the red skull and crossbones in your HUD.

I love how all BF2 soldiers have Conan-like danger sense when it comes to small traps (skull & crossbones warning), but they have a harder time smelling out a half-dozen squatters on the roof of Karkand's factory.

i think the 5 mines is perfetly fair to offset the drawbacks of thier gun, snipers only get 2 claymores becasue they can kill you before you get close enough to use them

Sure. Then take away 4 c4 packs from the SF so it takes a few of them to blow assets. Five mines are nothing unless the enemy driver is a dumbass. Plus they disappear over time. Mine spamming is pretty non-existant.
