Nowhere does it state that an accomplishment has to be tactile. You could win at a chess tournament, and have no more of an excuse call it an accomplishment as you would in BF2. You could get employee of the month at a Safeways, which would mean absolutely Jack sh*t to a ranch hand. Or you could get some obscure service ribbon in Iraq which wouldn't earn you a second glance from a Frenchman.

That being said, BF2 awards are in place for the enjoyment of its players, not for the US military to sift through and look for the best K/D ratios from which to recruit their next 5-star generals for a world war. My BF2 awards, some of them displayed in my signiture, indicate that I like vehicles (particularly aircraft), infantry (particularly specops/g36/pistols), squads, commanding, teamplay and winning. At the same time, the absence of SF army ribbons say that I haven't played it very much. Thus, my style is given away without any need to even take a cursory glance into the numbers.
