These packs would be like first aid or ammo packs that engineers could throw down to slowly repair nearby vehicles like a supply crate does. They would encourage people to play engineer and make getting repair points as esay as getting resupply or healing points. On the other hand, it could unbalance the game too much. What do you think?

something has to done to get repairs easier . im waiting to get euro forces , so i can get get on one those tank maps , they reckon about 10 - 15 repairs around 2 points for repairing assets would nice , so long as the nice little spec ops dont kill you first

not sure people would be throwing their engineer kits everywhere , and it would be harder for  an armor to kill if it has kits lined up down the road it could just go over a engineer supply kit and heal it self, but it would encourage more people to play engineer more easy points like you said ... interesting idea

Ok, here's the problem as I see it: "It's too hard for engineers to get repair points."  Very true.  Now here's the solution that's being proposed: "Give engineers medic-bag-type throwables that will cause nearby vehicles to be repaired."  Oh, crap.  Suddenly anti-tank soldiers become useless, APCs become even more formidable against tanks and infantry, and tanks...well shit, might as well not bother throwing grenades at them, huh?

The real solution, of course, is to make repair points take less repairing to get.  Hell, a Support guy gets an ammo giving point for replenishing a single pistol magazine.  Shouldn't the engy get something for healing a tank 1/4 of the way or something?  Maybe make 5 seconds of repair = 1 point or something like that.  But for God's sake, no throwable repair packs.  It's frustrating enough when my SRAW hits a tank right before it finds me and blows me to hell.  But if it were to run over a repair pack afterwards I'd go crazy.

yeah when i first saw this thread i'm like "yeah fuckin' A repair packs would be cool" but after reading [QXJZ]Capt_Kefra's post just above mine it really drove home a point - you're right man, it would make it crazy - the armor would be unbeatable.  and i like your solution - more points for repairing the same shit, repairing at the same rate and all that jazz, just more points.  i like it.

I just pray to God there's a Spec-ops team that is constantly blowing the arty, I come in Terminator style pump shotty them and get repair points at the same time... LOL.

I'm going to have to say no to packs, and just increase the rate at which engineers gain points. As it stands, even if you are wrenching a vehicle all map, it's still at a much slower rate than heals or resupplies. But at the same time, you require alot less global repair points for the repair badge.
