Hey guys,

Lately, I've been having a crash issue with BF2.  When I go into a server, when loading, I get a blue screen and then my computer restarts.  I've tryed cleaning up my temp, I've got the latest drivers for my video card (I don't have the ATi 9200 either).  Anyone have any advice?  I swear, I love this game but the bugs are what's gonna drive me off of it...

Hi there,

I used to have simmilar problems. I had the whole range from "freezing" to "back to desktop" to "restarts". It happend randomly during gameplay or when trying to connect to a server. No matter if it was an internet or LAN-server. No matter if I set the graphics to high or low. No matter, if I underclocked my RAMs. I had crashes after about 10 minutes in game. Funny though, that the game worked in single-player pretty well.

When trying to set up a Peer2Peer client, I increased the Windows XP connection-limit to whatever the highest possible is. Including that patch for the tcpip.sys from "lvllord". After that, the game seems to run without any problems. No crashes, no freezes. I don't know why, but somehow, it helped. Oh, and I have the RAMs set back to SPD-controlled.

Maybe you should give it a try. If it works for you too, it might be interesting to find out why the game doesn't like the the Windows XP default setting of 10 smultanously open connections.
