most joysticks are usb, and some use the gameport provided with most soundcards
i assume by mouse port you mean ps/2, so no

i have a logitech wireless joystick (dont remember name)
it's a good joystick, but i fly like a retard with it, so i dont use it
it cost 80 cad

seriously i'm bit of a jet whore myself, and you really need joystick to fly jets

some claim that they'r leet with their mouse+keyboard but they are not

and you don't need hours and hours of practice.. i only used it for like an hour in SP and i got so much better at flying

YES it can be used for infantry (depends on the joystick though.. my saitek cyborgevo's POV buttons can be recognized as mouse but i definitely do not recommand it)

and NO it's usb so it doesn"t use PS/2 port

i bought mine at fry's for 30 bucks USD
