Windows XP has been out for several years now. All games are programed to work with Windows XP. The fact that you are still using Win2k or anything else at this point means you are behind the times. When it comes to gaming the newest Win platform will always be the benchmark. Only business apps care about serious multi platform compatability. Though the gaming community is in fact looking at Linux more and more as a viable alternative platform. I can thank games like UT2004 and WoW (Mac OS X) for that thinking.

Yeah but I doubt youll be seeing mainstream games coming out for unix any time soon... you'll continue to see ports, but deving for two platforms is just way too expensive and too much cost for benefit
