BF2S Forums patches not working

ok I'm just going to get this across. Im fucking pissed off. I  went out and bought special forces when I was away for a week. got home and bunged it in after installing it and found out that a new patch was out.  so I installed it.... But unfortunately my internet was shaped so I went to a mates place while it downloaded at home overnight. the next morning I went home to find that something screwed up and I ddn't get the download... fortunately enough, I wasn't shaped any more and I got it in the next 2 hours.... for some unapparent reason, i downloaded it. but it didn't actually appear any-where.... soon got over that and found out I could just get the incremental patch which took 3 or so minutes and installed it. finnaly i could play the new expansion pack. clicked on the icon and up pops a box. "windows cannot access the secified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropraite permssions to access the item"

I pondered what the fuck it meant, then attmpted to re-install the 1.22 patch. it said "you must have 1.21 installed to use this" alright, i thought, I'll install it again. installed it and tried again. same fucking thing happened. Now I can't play not only my special force, but my original game. I think I might have to unistall -reinstall and then put the patches on but I am fuckign fuming and I have no idea why I'm not allowed to play my game.

anyone got any help on....

A: where to download the patch. the official site isn't trusty enough after this
B: how to make it let me play
C: any other fucking tips on how to get the fucking patches to work fucking proply.
