I do not think there is any "Anti-Russian" sentiment at EA.  Perhaps just a lack of available expertise?

Probably, simply I in a shock of that in the list of accessible languages am present even Thai and Polish. Russia surpasses on territory and the population these countries in some hundreds times. Also in game the Russian weapon is used.
It is possible to result still a heap of arguments, but I think simply at them the politician such.

This theme to concern not only to a patch 1.22, but also to all game and in general to all games from EA.
For example, company Sierra has made Russian localization Сounter-Strike Source. And now they are supported with millions admirers in Russia.

I work as a free-lance translator for EA Nordic. That localisation office handles Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. I'm not sure if they translate for the Iceland market as well, or if they reccon it is too small.

I translated BF-V to Swedish, but was too busy with other titles to translate BF2.

Anyway, I think the problem might be that EA as yet has no localisation office in Russia, hence no Russian translation. I imagine the same office that handled Polish could find English-Russian translators (the problem isn't a shortage of translators, to be sure ) for the Russien market, if putting up a new branch for all slavic languages is not perceived as profitable enough.

I only work for them on a project basis, and I have no deeper insight into their organisation than the next guy.

EA only localise titles they figure will sell better in translated form. BLACK was not localised in Scandinavia.

If enough Russians tell EA that localisation would be appreciated (and boost sales!), that may bring about a change, if not for this game, then maybe for BF3.
