I have had this annoying problem for quite a while and haven't been able to find a solution.  I have two computers running BF2 through a DLink router and RoadRunner cable modem.   EVERY time I Refresh or Update Server List in the browser, it eats up every bit of bandwidth on my internet connection.  I am connected to IRC and MSN Messenger.  EAch time I launch the game and refresh the list, but IRC and Messenger log off (I can hear the IRC disconnect and reconnect EVERY time, the MSN shows up disconnected after I finish playing).   Often times I can't even stay logged on to GameSpy... the refresh gets to about 80% and I am informated that I've lost connection with the Game Spy server.  This happens when I'm playing alone and is even worse when my wife is playing.  If we are both trying to refresh the server list at the same time, we'll both get disconnected from GameSpy and only get about 600 servers instead of the normal 1300-1400 that the usually get.  I have tried all the various network speed settings but nothing help.

Anyone else have this problem or have a solution/suggestion?  Thanks in advance!

Ok lets see How much memory you have on your PC?

alo try this

Click start, Go run, type in msconfig, go strat up in there have a look what U have checked if its more then about 10, then click disable all click apply it will ask you if you want2 restart PC hit yes. On start up you will see hardly any programs loading Up on start up next to clock ( dipending on how many programs u have runing it will cas u to have lag, it will auto check it self what ever it needs2 use on start up ) messengers and so on will not load up on start up anymore u can manulay open them from Desktop,

Disable firewalls as that dosen't help BF2

See how you get on after that Peace Boris
