just like to praise predetor1 / death_trap and 1-|syphon|-1 for an excellent game last night. basically the maps were cack and we were on the losing team and i would of turned bf2 the moment it all started if it wasnt for accidently joining their voip squad and kicking ass with them. gotta love it when a good squad comes together and actually plays bf2 the way its ment to be played - so cheers guys.
anyone else have similar stories of good squad work?

On Kubra Dam we (US) were down 50-75 ish and couldn't really cap anyting because the mec could respond too qickly.  My squad gathered together (mostly people from my floor here at ISU) all as engineers and started with two m1a2's and an APC.  We began to steamroll through the bases on the way to the inlet and got sort of a snowball of armor effect, and by the time we got to the back we had 3 tanks and 3 apc's.  We capped the inlet in what was pretty much the ficerest armor battle I have ever been in.  My squad suffered only 1 casualty (one who ventured away from the flock)  and we heald the base for the remainder of the game under a constant counter-attack.  We won by about 8 points.

The gold medal was icing on the cake

It was the most bf2 fun I'd had in a while
<it's fun to play with your friends, and fun to kill them too!>

Yeah, on Sharqi I was in the crane with 3 guys in the same squad as me, 2 snipers and a rocket guy. I was support. We just rained bullets down, then i just refilled everone. Suddenly loads of people must have realised we were there cos we started taking some hits. So I respawned on our leader as a medic and heaed everyone. Got shot again, so I came back as support and sat there with the satchel out while all three of them just threw frags at everyone. Got so many ammo points it was unreal! Already had my vet resupply, thought and I didn't quite get enough for expert  :-/  But it's given me a few ideas now

Sometimes its better to go solo for a bit cos you get teamleaders who shand there throwing frags at tanks and you spawn on them then BOOM.

I had a great experience as well last saturday.  I was in the DD server and managed to get a killer crew of squad members.  We were doing very well thoughout the various maps, and everybody choose a kit to further the cause of the squad.  I had the pleasure of leading these salty bastards to my highest round as squad leader ever.  We were on Gulf of Oman, as the MEC, and absolutely dominated the beachfront fortifications.  We had all decided that the other flags could fall on occasion, due to the hard time the US would have making it through our beachfront line of defence.  We had one medic, two engineers, one support, and Two Anti-tank.  When we rolled up on a new flag, one laid mines, one hopped on AA for aircover against helos, the two armor units covered the flags, and our helo flew support against any incomming armor.
It was definately the best group of people that I've ever played with.  When all was said and done, our squad racked up 416 LEGIT points for the round.  Now that is when this game gets fun.  Everything was like clockwork, and we had awesome communication through the VOIP.  A shout out, and a job well done to my squadmates for a killer time in BF2!

I played a few rounds with a guy named chit_stain_mclain on VOIP. By far the best squad leader I've ever played with. Look for him online sometime. He knows what it takes to get the job done ;-) Mad props.
Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it
