When I first installed this patch, it would show the splash screen like always, then it went into full screen mode but just was black, I would have to ctrl alt del to close it. I've tried Xtreme-G drivers (v84.21.v2) and the offical drivers (81.98) I have a 7800gtx and I am running Windows 64x, this isnt the problem since it's worked fine for a couple months now on every other version. I tried all the regulars like defrag and deleting temp files, no avail. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game with the 1.22 full patch, same problem. I then uninstalled again and reinstalled, installed the 1.21 patch and it works great. Has anyone else had this problem that it just wont boot with the v1.22 patch? And does anyone have any ideas to try and get me running on the newest verion? Thanks in advance.
I would think it has something to do with your video card. Try taking it out of the machine, reboot to onboard video, then re-install your video card and update the drivers from the manufacture's website before launching the game. I had a lot of trouble with my video card when I first tried playing BF2.

Try renaming your Battlefield 2 directory under My Documents. This folder contains your configuration options for the game. I don't know if this gets deleted when you uninstall or not, but I had to do this when I swithed from a CRT to an LCD. Just something to try. Good Luck.
