Hi

I'm missing a way to know when my buddies are online. I know i can go here to BF2S and look at my leaderboard (thanks to the Great Almighty Chuy) and that is a great way to do it, but i would like to make an app that pops up and shows me when a buddy comes online.

Does anybody know if there is such an app already or where I can get the info for creating one?

Cheers

Do my buddies need xfire too for it to work, and does xfire have the feature to pop up and show me who comes online?

X Fire is excellent. I had never used it before BF2, it's defanatley worth downloading and installing. Your mates need to download it aswell. Its easy to use and set up.

If you're wanting an application that you can find out what servers your friends are on etc (as long as they have xfire) then it's great.
However, as a server finder type app it's severely lacking. Its filters are crap and All Seeing Eye is looking awfully tempting to buy of late.

If it is possible I would like to make an app that will let me know when a buddy comes online, one that doesn't have xfire, someone that just has BF2. Might not even be a "buddy", maybe an enemy I want to hunt down, or that rare person that I played with who was bit more into teamwork than all the rest. It should not be impossible, Chuy does it, but i do not want to refresh my browser to know.

On a sidenote, if I can get the info i would like to add a serverlist with the map rotation for each server within the list, filtered by ping (100ms or something)
