Last night I had the misfortune to stumble across a Swiss server with a lame admin, Fezzler or Fazzler or something similar. Can't remember the name of the server - I thought it was an EA official server but I couldn't find it later. Oh well. Still, got two candidates for the lamest excuse for a ban.
Anyway, we were playing the Euro Forces maps and on Operation Smoke Screen, someone had a high ping. Now I know, and I'm sure everyone else knows, occasionally some people get a lag spike or something and their ping goes nuts but this will settle down in 10 seconds or so. No such understanding on this server - someone got banned - not kicked but banned - for having a high ping. I voiced surprise at this and I wasn't alone.
Next map, Taraba Quarry. I fancied trying my hand at flying the Eurofighter. I've not done this since the patch went in and I wanted to see how it had changed. Someone beat me to it but having seen him die several times on the previous map, I knew it'd respawn quickly. Sure enough, the guy re-appeared a minute later and so did the plane, another 15 seconds afterwards. I tried to get in but he beat me to it. Then we argued for a while about who should fly and eventually he taxied to the runway and took off (no damage to me, I was lying just to the side of the wheels). And then I got banned "banning aardfrith BANANANANANANANA" Punkbuster said it was for "excessive teamkilling" - is 0 excessive?
