Hey all,
I play ultimate frisbee/co-captain the team and was wondering if there are any other hardcore, gung-ho ultimate players out there. I play for PHUEL (Philadelphia High School Ultimate) and was wondering if anyone else either plays in that league, plays in any league, or plays at collegiate level. If you don't know what i'm talking about, you will, give Ultimate a few more years and it will have its own television channel, although it may already have that.

lol, i didnt know there was a sport with dogs... lol j/k

serious didnt know there was a frisbee sport.

maybe on the beach...

I play disc golf. Just like golf but, with frisbee's. There is a basket with a pole in the center for the hole.

It's pretty fun. We use different shape & weight discs like woods & irons. We have a few course here in North Houston. There is a league but, around here it's just a bunch of stoner's that use it for an excuse to get out of the house. Including me.

Ultimate frisbee differs from Disc golf in that Ultimate frisbee is like a soccer (futbol) match crossed with a football game .... with a frisbee. Contact optional.......

Disc golf is definately more relaxing, Ultimate offers more exercise. SWT has a great course for disc golf that I used to play on, so does UT and A&M. Fun game! Worth a try if you need to get outside and shed your BF2/PS2 tan.

Yea dudes,
I've played disc golf and am fairly good at it, being that i play ultimate. Yes ultimate is very physically demanding and is a cross of football, soccer, and basketball and none on our team smokes pot...during the season. Yea well ultimate is basically real hardcore at least for me and i would show pictures but i dunno how to put them in here, just google it.

Wow~!

So you guys throw from 100+ meters and hit that basket? ...man that looks hard. You got kinds of things to think about... like with wind and weight and effect of frisbee.

But ones you got it that could be cool cause than you just go to the beach and throw those frisbees right infront of the nice chicks. Or if there is a stupid dog annoying you just throw it that hard that he can run all day to catch it.

They have a whole slew of different types of discs to fit your throwing style and range. Discs with a flattened edge so they roll farther after the initial landing. Highly accurate, low distance "putters". Dense, thin discs for distance with wind. etc. etc..

And cute animal names to go with each one!! Raptor, Gazelle, Hammerhead....

Some of the courses are really challenging (and kinda scenic too)

I dunno Eternal, I have to disagree. After trying Ulitimate Frisbee for one game, I have quite abit of respect for the players. I was bruised, cut, and dog-assed tired when I got done with that game. All the beer in College Station couldn't have numbed the soreness in my body.

Lol it's not the game itself I'm getting at I'm sure its quite good + i know feck all about it and I dont comment on what i dont know anything about usually. Its the name, it just sounds so silly... I mean c'mon even Joey from Friends come up with Ultimate Fireball

Chea...well I was talking about the sport Ultimate Frisbee, and yes the name is a bit awkward and its a bit of a misnomer because someone else can be like ive got a more ultimate ultimate frisbee, but that'd be stupid.
Yea well i was just wondering if anyone else out there played.
