+ How the hell can you remove the rolling? WTF? They don't roll, they just go prone, but game engine makes it look like "rolling". You want to remove it? And? I have to agree with the original poster....all other players should be made to hold still for me when I want to deliver a death blow, and, any weapon I am using should be able to kill whatever I point it at. Also...all weapons that kill me should be nerfed so that I have ample time to determine the source of the attack and counter it before they kill me.

-2 combatants spot each other 2 meters apart
- for 2 split seconds 1 combatant starts firing, hitting the other combatant drops and rolls.
-the combatant who is standing is hitting the combatant who drops and rolls with every round fired.
-the combatant who has dropped and roll finishes off the combatant. Even though the other combatant was already firing, hitting him with every shot.
-the combatant who drops and rolls continues to run and gun...

This exploit works best with assualt, support and special ops.
if you cant handle it dont play it!!

You guys are missing the point.  its not about drop and roll (this is just an animation), its about the ability to go prone immediately once a firefight begins and not have any penalty to your aim/accuracy.  i do it because it works (i have prone mapped to mouse button 3) but I don't like it.  As I said earlier it makes gaming tactics in BF2 silly.

It's enough that they maked LMG less accurate when you hit [go prone] and shoot at the same time. Ahh yes. At least we have some tactics in BF2. Nerf it all and BF will be  an arcade game where all you do is just press the [fire] button.

the funniest one i had was a guy jumping then proneing constantly. it took me a while but i kept my finger on the fire button and he died eventually. all that finger work wasted.
