why is rb378wby a well balanced gamer showing variety?? he is only snipering, has low ratios and is not good at all in vehicles ....

but sgt_maxpower is a good choice! he is one of my favourites and the first 4 star general of all!!

Neither really. Both are a reflection of time played (score more so obviously) and neither actually points to player skill just by itself.

I'd say that a Colonel with 300.000 points is a worse player than a Lt.General with 300.000 simply because the Lt.General took the time and effort to use ALL the vehicles as instead the Colonel just medic/support whored on karkand or limited him/herself to one vehicle such as for example the helicopter.

Neither.  I've seen some pretty bad players with a high rank or high global score.

However, these players who have a high rank must have skill. Let's randomly take one badge, Expert Engineer. Sure, time played as this kit is one of the requirements, but so is 25 repair points in one round. I don't care who or what you are, that is hard to do. Also, to overcome the problem of being idle, a player needs 250 SEPERATE repairs in order to acquire this badge. That is also difficult and requires a good knowledge of the game and SKILL. We could take another badge, Expert Resupply. Again, time is an issue when gaining this badge and can result in idlers, however, 500 resupplies and 25 ammo points shows skill.
Woo, I have Expert Engineers, I must be l33t.  How skillful is getting 250 total repair points?  Command...UAV DESTROYED!  +1 repair point...command....ARTILLERY DESTROYED! + 3 repair points...

--OR--

Drive my tank....See friendly tank....Drive behind him...+8 Repair points!!!

Ranks/global score show ZERO skill.  I mean, how many Lieutenant Generals have gotten 500-1000 point best rounds on K/P servers?  How many Lieutenant Generals get royally owned when they aren't sitting in their tank? (or even in their tank when fighting me:P)

Both are meaningless. KDR and SPM are what counts.

And wait to go on digging up a year old topic.

Neither's a true portrayal of a player. I have to play with them first.

Both are important.
If theres a lt. general with 300k points, you could probably say that hes a good all-round player, as he has his vehicle badges. But if theres a colonel with 300k points, you could also say that hes good at what he does. He may have got those 300k points from being a kark medic whore, but if he's been doing it for 1500 hours, you can be damn sure that hes good at it. He might get his arse kicked in a dogfight , but you wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of his AK in infantry combat.
Of course, this only applies if things like stats-padding and idling in vehicles haven't occurred in the event that they do, then the player sucks no matter their rank or point number.

if you want to get three stars, you have to use all vehicles and should get quite good with them. so i would say, those are better bf2 players, than colonels with the same amount of points, who only spent their days on karkand 24/7 servers. as said above, they might be good at being medics, but thats just a small part of the whole game - bf2 is a game with vehicles and has more maps than just karkand...
