hey i downloaded the new patch (1.22) and be4 i downloaded it i only had about 8 ranked games that i could play from now after i downloaded it the same games show up and i can't really play because they are always full.

i know what he mean, he just got BF2 and he got the basic version. There is like 50 servers total but only 8 ranked servers.
To try responding to your question, maybe you downloaded the INCREMENTAL patch, you need the other one, the big one. The big one is the one with 372MB, not the one with 9.2MB.

Note: i suggest starting the download of that patch before going to bed, except if you got the best internet connection ever. Actually it took me 2 hours with a pretty good connection.

the incrmental is for people who've already installed teh previous ones, therefore not having to dl the huge one with all the patches. It won't let you install the inc without 1.21
