Okay. This is weird. The computer I post on this site from run mods perfectly. I want to have a mini LAN battle, so I decide to put the mod on my other computer. A quick copy & paste, and its on my mods directory. When I go to run the mod on my alternate computer, I get an error that says:

BF2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience.

So I think its the game. A quick reinstall, put the mod back on the alternate computer, and try to boot it up again. BAM! Same error. I've updated to 1.22 on both computers. I tried renaming the .exe to match both of the .exe's. Nothing seems to work.

I've tried to put another mod on my alternate computer. Same thing. Had to go through a full system restore to get it working again.

Sorry if my post is not really clear.

EDIT: And yes both of my computers have more than the minimum requirements.

What mod? Is this a Mod you made?

It not any specific mod, just a singleplayer mod so me and my friend can do a co-op style game. But all mods result in the same conclusion. Crash.

maybe you're not supposed to transfer the mod files? try *downloading* it onto the troublesome computer from wherever you initially got it. i know it shouldnt make a difference but you never know..these things always happen to me!

Yes, normal BF2 seems to work perfectly on my computer. Just when I put another file (other than xpack, it works fine) it does this.

Okay, I have looked into my files on both computers. Here is what may be causing it:

If I even go in the Battlefield 2 directory, it won't work anymore. But I went there anyway, and the only difference I could find was that the .con files were associated with, "WinWay Contact Resume" on my alternate computer (the one that does not work). Apparently, WinWay thinks that .con is short for .contract or something. Could this possibly be the problem?
