With 183 hours as Medic and another 49 as Assault, I still have no favorite gun, which I guess proves that EA/DICE at least implemented the unlocks decently well. The L85A1 got quite a bit better with the new patch, and as mentioned before, it has a 2.5x scope. The SVD/Type 88 only get 3.33x, and both are one-head-shot kills, so as long as you get used to the "microscope" sights, it's a versatile gun. G36E (32 damage), well duh, it pwns. Deadly accurate, controlled 3 round bursts... The M16A2 (30 damage) is often overlooked. As a medic, I'd prefer the G36E but an Assault can use it to his advantage. Don't forget that even though it's not as accurate as a G36E it has an insane 900 rpm firing rate, and remains tolerably accurate if at close range. The AK-101/AK-47 aren't precise, but with 37/38 damage per shot and a beefy 30 round magazine, it has more damage potential than even the mighty G3. Short bursts at close range, or single shots at medium range, are the way to go. The F2000 has a funky "airplane cockpit" sight, but 34 damage (equal to the L85) and lest we forget, a nade launcher, should you like to use it. The G3 (40 damage) is quite accurate in prone single shot, making it a useful tool at range. Close up, you have to be very careful about your bursts, as a 20 round magazine is prone to going dry at an inopportune moment. But if you prefer to have frag grenades, the G3 is the way to go.
