I recently have reinstalled windows and decided to partition my new hard drive. After installing BF2 I went to apply the v1-1.12 patch and as you probably know it won't work. I've tried what's said in the EA knowledge base and that doesn't work. After searching the forums I found threads with the same problem with the solution I've tried. The interesting thing I noticed though was that this problem has seemed to disappear after the v1-1.12 patch.

So, I would like to know if the current full patch will patch a BF2 installation on a non-windows partition?

Thank you in advance.

I've got three partitions:

10GB for Windows
5GB for Ubuntu
171GB for general storage (BF2 is on this one)

Looking at my question again I'll try to rephrase it.

Can the current full patch patch BF2 on a separate partition to windows without the problems encountered in the v1-1.12 full patch.

Yeah it SHOULD be fine but i would back up every thing first, the stupid thing i said about the partitions was because on my '98' PC i had 12 partitions all under 100Mb and ithey just Ate up ram and space all the time so i had to reformat....... ok i think that you sohuld extend your windows partiton but thats up to you i would becuse im really anal about that shit

Well I couldn't make my Windows partition bigger without destroying my Ubuntu partition so it will just have to be happy with the Gig it still has left.

I've got BF2 installed on a partition other than the Windows system one and have only installed incremental patches with no problems

Well I downloaded last night and installed it today and it worked fine.

So for the search function if anyone looks for it in the furture. The full 1.22 patch will patch a BF2 installation on a seperate partition.

Your problem is you're using a shitty Linux distro. Everybody uses Ubuntu.
