No, no, no, I don't want perfect heatseeking lighttracking bullets that nail headshots while jumping, running AND climbing into a jeep from your parachute...I want...

The rifle to be able to HIT unscoped!  The scope should just provide zoom. Even having no crosshairs, but the shot going roughly toward the center of the screen would be fine.  Actually, that's exactly what I want.

Discuss.

This would be soo unbalanced. Some persons simply get a pen and make a dot at the middle of their screen and now they have a ultra high damage weapon.

Exactly why CS sucks.

Disagree with topic starter.

Snipers running around nading people, headshotting people at point-blank, spamming claymores, etc? No.

A sniper rifle should at least be somewhat as accurate as a LMG while shooting without the benefit of the scope. As it is, the rifle is shown pointing forward, but an unscoped shot can send the bullet 60 degrees down into the dirt, or careening way off somewhere to the right.

I'm all against giving it dumbass CS accuracy, but come on...some realism here would be nice.

Exactly. As it is now, the tip of your barrel could be pressing up against a sweaty MEC neck, and still miss.

Also one of the reasons I proposed a no-scope M1A as an unlock for a new class was so I could (somewhat) snipe without haveing to press my eyeball into a scope. Yesss...I was an engineer fan on 1942 and VN. Can you tell?

I would like to see some sort of ability to use the weapon unscoped.  Maybe something like a large aim recticle similar to a shotgun, so percise aim is tough.  A high accuracy penalty should be imposed as well.  However if someone is 10m from you, you should have a resonable chance of hitting unscoped.  Your not going to get a head shot, but at least you wouldn't be completely helpless when you walked around a corner with a loaded .50 cal.

On a  side note, as a strategy tip.  I usually carry my pistol until I get in a good sniper position.

it does kinda suck that there is no crosshairs unscoped but hey, its a long range weapon. Most carry a personal defense weapon OTHER than their rifle for close quarters stuff. But then that would make them toooooo unbalanced huh? I think it just makes me incorporate stealth into how i play when im a sniper. AND i would loathe to see anything like the awp in this game.
