To make this clear, which unlock is the best improvement over the originals (PLA, MEC and USMC)?  E.g, the L96 is a good gun, but its little better than the M24. The DAO-12 is viewed by some as a great improvement, as its a completely different gun.

Try to remember that the G36E isnt that different to an M16, for example. Don't just vote for your favourite.

YAY! first vote!  I think the DAO-12 is the best because the stock SMGs are just plain weak.  Yeah you can be really effective with them, but I'd rather have the CQB dominance that the DAO-12 offers.  Another great choice is the G36C, because it's just all around really good.  It's highly accurate, it has low recoil, and you can shoot long range with no downsides.

To be honest, I really like the most of the stock weapons with the exception of the Anti-tank SMG's.  The stock sniper rifles are good, but the L96A1 is in a league of its own.  Even though it's similar to the M24, I think it is much better because of it's sights.

Yeah, the L96A1 is just pure awesome.  It's all I use now, unless I know for a fact I can get in some shots against some base raping helicopter.

EDIT: I changed my vote. I didn't think about SMGs. DAO-12 is the only way to go for AT

Both the G3/F2000 for assault, and the L85A1 (assuming you're playing US). Can't stand three-round burst weapons, when it takes four shots to kill someone. If you're playing the PLA or the MEC, AK's are probably the way to go, for most situations.

honestly if i'm PLA or MEC I never pick anything but the AK's unless i'm assault then it's F2000 or the AK's depending on whether or not i need flash or smokes.

AT I only use the P90 now for the range and because i hate shotguns.

and as for sniping i really only use the L96A1 unless i know i'm gonna go rape a carrier.

The MP7 is much better than the shotguns and gives a engineer a chance to survive in mid range battles.

Yeah, I gotta say improvemnt wise, its either the MP7 or the DAO-12, leaning towards the latter.

to be honest i suck with the DAO i really wish now I woulda went with the sniper unlocks, I just started getting into sniping it's pretty fun running around , but the SVD sucks I cant hit anything with it
