Hi all,

Ive only been working BF2 for about a month and reached the dizzy heights of Gunnery Sargeant

Ive noticed the higher ranks, in particular captains and majors and above seem to be ABLE to group themselves on one team, ive noticed this when I have been on commander duties.

An open question to you all,

Are they as good as their rank or do they stats pad themselves together to make sure they are on the winning team.

I have seen various situations of this, when my only major switched to join the other team to make sure they were on the winning team.

I would like to see a BATTLE COMMO of the TOP 60 players in BF2 to see how good they really are. Does anyone know if such a thing is available.  ?

Ranks usually is the result of playing along time.  It doesn't necessarily mean you are a good player tho, I have seen some good players with high ranks.

They all die the same,i have a freind hes the leaf one[sorry dont know name]i met him on that insomnia mastuur server he was sniping in all the obvious spots,so no i dont think theres to much of a differance.Once you have dont the game for about 50-100 hours you no most of the hiding spots/easiest ways to rank up.

I doubt the BATTLE COMMO is there, but I'd have to say most of the top 60 players have been "bad" (Nicer way of saying a$$holes). I played with the top 20 something, don't remember the names, 2 of 3 of them, and they were the worst team players I've ever seen.

IMHO, I think that only a handful of those high scoring players actually are skilled in all aspects like their stats show.

Rank doesn't say anything, you've got good high rankers and bad ones, ones that pad themselves up there and people who play a long time to get there. so you should look at the player not the rank.

It really upsets me when I see Lts. and Colonels etc using really lame strategies like uncap raping, whoring, or whatever.

Yeah, i think rank has a lot to do with time, i mean, if you play 1000 hours your gonna be a higher rank that someone who has only played 100

i mean yeah, if you play 1000 hours your going to have more experience, but there is only so much you can learn and it has more to do with skill rather than intuition

IMO i think the best rounded player i've seen (at least looking at the stats anyway) would be Slidero, he seems to be good at most everything and plays a lot on all maps, rather than whoring on one specific map

Some people play for points, some just play for the fun of playing the game.
But just because you have a high rank doesn't mean that your good, but yes, there are some really good players out there, they practice alot and play alot.

But remember,
its not what rank your at in the game that makes you good, its how you play the game that matters the most

LOL ===== POP

I really do love this game, but I get really frustrated by the stats, my god I ve even resorted to looking at mine, but only becoming the commander slot, I ve noticed it a lot more.....

I would like replies from Captains and above about your opinions, Ive been on a few squads that ive had really good rounds, but I remember them to the day so they are pretty rare..LOL

I am in favour though of EA working this auto balance to rank as opposed to numbers.

No... not all high ranks are that good. They just play more. dont worry about higher ranks. just play your best and you will be good.

Commander gets you lots of points... but LOOK AT MY STATS and you will notice, commanding doesnt mean shit...

Halo 2 was a good example of what high ranks should be more like, based purely on skill not even taking into account the ammount of time you played. Someone with 1337 skills who only had maybe 100hrs could be much higher ranked than some n00b with 500hrs.  Yes, there are higher-ranked people in BF2 with less time and higher SPM and thats what im talking about, they earned it purely with skill rather than hours and hours and hours wasted sloowly racking up points maybe 40 each round.

High rank/Low rank, never means the players good or bad.

I've noticed people tend to focus on trying to kill the higher ranked players ingame. I think it's more a case of they see the higher ranks as a greater threat and therefore try to kill them first.

Personally, i've yet to come across one yet I can't kill.

I've also noticed ingame some higher ranks stat padding. Typically by driving a jeep into the water and then repairing it whilst it's being damaged throughout entire rounds.

i am having a high rank now, does it mean i play better than when i had 10k points? no i dont think so ... i may have more expirience, i may have more expirience with the vehicels and with the maps, but thats all ... all in all, it is the reaction that counts ... u have to see an enemie and be able to shoot him ... high ranks do not mean autokill so i totally agree with most of the people who wrote something befor me here

They really arent that good imo. And you talked about skilled ppl too? Well check my stats, because imo got pretty good stats if looked at how much ive played and what is my G-score. hehe.

So allmost evertime highranks just play 24/7

I'd say in 6/10 cases, higher ranks are better than other players.  The other 4/10 only have the rank bc they play too much

Obviously having a higher ranks means they've played longer, but that means also that they have a lot of experience.

"I'd rather have a captain flying a chopper than a private"

There is a player called Obelix who is a captain, he's usually on the EA UK servers, me and a few people have come up with the tag line "the higest ranking noob" - because he actually sucks so much.

Sure, there will be some lower ranked players who can do well in combat, but don't have a clue when it comes to strategy. (For Example, they get in a chopper with l337 flying skills on wake, but go straight to the carrier to get shot down by essex) A lot of them have this Gung-Ho attitude.

I play a lot on public servers (because I hate clans) and some nights there can be times where I'm the highest ranked player and both teams straight up suck, which really frustrates me. Some nights about 20 really good players can be on one server for a good 2-3 hours and it can make for some really good, close matches, providing a decent challenge.

The way I see it, A lot of lower ranked players are just another number to add to my "kills" amount.

A lot of people don't seem to understand that this game isn't just about killing people.
