How is explosives accuracy determined?

If I lay out 5 c4 packs spread apart, and 2 of them take out a tank but the rest go off and don't hit anything? Is that 40 percent accuracy? If I lay them tightly and all 5 contact the tank is that 100 percent?

If I lay out 5 mines and 2 of them get kills seperately and the rest time out and disappear? Is that 40 percent or 100 percent?

Do clays and mines that were layed out but never went off count against your explosives accuracy?

Thanks.

im not 100% sure about it,
iv wondered myself how my claymore acuracy is worked out.

Just wondered how it's determined because it's in the stats. If I lay a bunch of mines around and only 1 kills a tank, are the rest considered missed shots?

Anybody know for sure?

I personally think it should be based on how many fragments each mine/clay/c4 charge hit the target. In Delta Force Black Hawk Down, it was based on this. My claymore accuracy was 625% because I always laid them in a manor that would result in most body hits when some poor sole wandered too close.

it's based on how many pieces of ordinance you set and how many go off achieving a kill... soo say you set 2 AT mines for a tank.

the tank rolls over one mine and kaboom but other mine over on the other side is left all alone. you have a 50% accuracy.

If that's true Rizen, that is another example of EA/Dice not thinking through the scoring system.

well, honestly can you think of a good system to register explosives accuracy? i think it's not that bad. it's just seeing how many kills you can get with a piece of ordinance... i mean it's not a terrible system, but it's not amazing. i mean if it was done like in Delta Force i'd think that the rank servers would be taxed a little too much trying to keep track of every piece of shrapnel from an explosion.... and not all explosives release shrapnel in this game. actually the only explosives that do are the claymores and grenades....

I have a question along these lines. Engineers can now "disarm" mines. It takes 3 "clicks" of the wrench to pick up a mine. An engineer gets into a vehicle. How long does it take for an engineer in a vehicle to disarm a mine. I see so many times where someone in a jeep drives over my mine and I either see some explosion or no explosion and the jeep drives right through. Either way the mine is gone. It either blew up or the engineer in the jeep managed to pick it up at full speed in a jeep. I am so tempted to cry foul (hack) but I thought I would ask here first.

That's a new one Phel, I've never seen that.

Rizen, the way I would do it is: No such thing as explosives accuracy!

It's that simple. It's a near impossible thing to judge properly, especially with mines because they're rarely targeted and are more of a preventitive measure.

I sad EA didn't think through the system, not the process of explosives accuracy itself

First you can't disarm while in a vehicle, secondly when they "drove" over your mines they probably drove over them so that there was no pressure applied aka tires/treads didn't go over the mine.

Honestly do you honestly think they did not think through how they were going to do the entire system? I mean the whole idea of creating a stats system for the battlefield games started in BF2, and that's one great step there. So, if they created this new system I'd think they thoroughly thought through the mechanics behind the system...

Hmm... I think they work out accuracy by the number of packs that actually caused damage. So if all 5 packs do damage then 100% accuracy

Well, I usually put mines on the intake tunnel of Kubra dam. Many times there is a jeep that comes flying through. I watch them (with excitement, waiting for a boom) and many times they drive right through with either a small boom or no boom at all. I go and check the status of my mines and they are gone. So either the passing jeep detonated them but didnt blow up or he "engineered" them up. What is going on here?

They did it well for the most part, but it is lacking in some areas.
