OK so I've been thinking. Do you try to get your badges for the sake of removing that ugly, grey void in the stats screen? Do you do it so that you can have a goal and/or justify hours and hours of letting your social life deminish?
Reason for asking is that a friend of mine asked me why I needed the basic badges so bad before I hit 20K. I replied I wanted it so I could get the command post over others who didn't get to be first sergeant because they were missing out on knife or pistol kills. He said, "Oh, I thought you were doing it for show".
This made me think. I like being commander from time to time. It's fun to help out and try to do your best to get your team to win. And motivating co-players actually doing what you ask of them just adds to that fun - and inevetably victory for your team.
So, do you hunt those badges for self-pleasuring, for show or for the greater good? Perhaps a combo?
