I saw an individual.......someone who is a member here, and seems to think rather highly of himself.........blatantly team switching to the winning side every round.  I was thinking about calling him out on it.......but then I realized that he probably knows he's a douche, and me pointing it out would just distract me and take resources away from my team.  So I let it slide.

But what do you guys think.  Is this stat padding?

yes, it is, but really, how else is it possible to get the wcr?
EA needs to change that req, because the only way to get it is by padding, because randomly being assigned to a team will give you theoretically a 1.00 ratio.

Yes it is padding, people have been reset for it.

Just get a few friends together and go play on a 16 player server. One squad is easily enough to consistently get wins in a small server.

No way, I need the command hours too... at my current rate I'll end up getting the w:l ratio before I have the command time.

My friends and I will be playing and we will finally(the the second or third game) get on the same team and then he/she is a sore loser and switch to the other team with 1 or 2 tickets left.

They make me really mad, just take it like a man and next time try to hgelp your team win and tyou wont have to switch,

Not necessarily; if you're a decent player and you work hard on your teamwork (I don't mean points farming, I mean real teamwork), then you might just sway your w:l ratio up a bit.

I agree that 3:1 is blatantly ridiculous though, especially given the time requirement.

I would say that if you are playing on a 16 person server with 8 of your buddies than yes. On normal servers, especially large ones, than no. I feel this way for the simple reason that you don't pick  what team you ar on, and no matter how good you play, your still stuck with a bunch of retards that don't care about winning. Small servers with people you know ensure that you are trying to win...large servers with people you don't know (and you know they don't care or suck) its perfectly legit.

I find it to be very stupid either way.  Most of the servers I have played on have autoswitch on, which I have gotten screwed out of dozens of wins because of getting autoswitched to the losing team with 10 or less tickets vs 200 -- that I was good enough to help build up for my team.  It is just bs.  I have pretty much a perfect 1:1 ratio because of it.

Actually, generally one would expect it to be less than 1.00, because the average player is not that  great, whereas the best players are fantastic. This would weight things towards everyone losing more often, since they're statistically more likely to be on a 'poor' team than a 'good' team. If you play on random servers, that is.

I am sorry, but in a perfect world I would agree with you all on this one. In the real world: you log into a server and you are automagically put on the team with the least players. Which tends to be the losing side.

I have logged into too many servers where the Clan or group of regulars stack one team. Sometimes with un- even numbers of players (more players on the winning side). Last night the servers I currently like were either full or empty (unusual to say the least) so I start looking for a server to join. I log into a random server - SF Ghost Town. Tickets are 220/24 when I join. I get a loss. OK ......new round. I look to join a squad....7 squads of 1. I join one and we are a squad of 2. I manage to jump into the tank and I am off. No one else in a vehicle is playing engineer on my side which makes staying alive in the tank much harder. The other team has both choppers and have beaten us back to our uncap base with in 3 minutes of starting the round. I gave the choppers hell shooting them down multiple times with the tank or Stingers, but no team work on my side and my Commander is dropping arty on his own team more than the other team. I have second highest score on my side with about 50 points, but again we lose. I, of course, think that because of my mad skillz the loss was only like 150/0 this time.

Now third round starts and I am thinking I have two options: switch teams to avoid another loss or try my luck at finding another server. There is no way this team is going to win on this server.

It is late and I just want to play not search for another server so next round loads and I switch teams... suddenly there are engineers in armor. There are squads of 5 and 6. The commander is communicating and dropping arty on the enemy, my Squad Leader is sending orders. So I play a few rounds, I just want to even myself out for W:L.  Every round I get switched back to the Bad team, every round I switch over as soon as I can and join a squad. The fact that I got switched each round tells me the Admin is deliberatley keeping the teams one sided.

And you guys are saying that I am stat-padding???? ...... I say I just wanted to NOT play with a bunch of morons on my team.

I obviously won't ever go back to that server because in my mind the admins are stat-padding for themselves and their buddies.

No, what they are talking about is people switching team at the end of a round just to get the win... and some are doing it systematicaly, these are the padders they are talking about... not you... you, you are human like the rest of us, taking a beating once or twice, but at some point you want to a break

Dear God, not another "team-switching-is-stat-padding-because-I'll-never-get-the-WCR-and-I-hate-the-world-because-of-it" threads.

Team switching only works IF you do it before the first 3/4 of the tickets are gone.  Example:

300 tickets per team and you switch to the winning side at 150=you still get a loss.

300 tickets per team and you switch at 250=you get a win.

Trust me, I've tested this shit.  Several times.

Also........

WHO THE FUCK CARES!!?  If you play on the winning team for the majority of the map, you DESERVE TO GET A WIN, regardless if you switched 3 minutes into it.  There is no way to know for certain which team will win at 250 tickets.  Shit happens, advantages switch, play making player join and leave through a round and the battle can go either way.  Sometimes you just get sick and fucking tired of playing the American team on Wake or sick and tired of being MEC on Karkand.  I switch all the damn time because I get tired of playing on the American team for 4 or 5 hours straight!!  A little diversity PLEASE, kthx.

A moderator seriously needs to make a sticky about explaining this bullshit because after the 2435234 time, I'm tired of it.  The bottom line is that you will probably never get the WCR because your a whiny little bitch who spends more time crying about the requirments than you do playing the fucking game.  If it was easy, everyone would have it.  They've made this ribbon to where only people with some hint of intelligence and the notion that they have to start on it early are able to get it.

You missed the fucking bus, get over it.

The WCR should not concern ANYBODY, Forget it!...if you get it, whatever, You were Lucky. People shouldn't even 'Attempt' this Ribbon. If you switch teams its Stat-padding, your increasing your stats through Exploiting the game.

Team switching is padding. Moving to another server is not. Very close but a fine line and a difference IMO.

BTW I don't agree with the douche receptable part

I team switch all the time, but I don't do it mid-round. When I join the server, I attempt to switch teams to be on the team I like (either due to the map or wanting to be on the better team). But if I switch and then end up on the bad end of the stick, I rarely switch again.

That excludes when there are complete IDIOTS on my team who can't get a single flag though. That pisses me off to no end and I'll even leave the server if I can't switch. I can't stand incompetence (sp?).

And for the record, the 3:1 ratio is not that hard. I nearly have it just by playing fairly normally (as stated above).

And when they can't switch teams they leave the server right before the round ends. I always like it when I see like 5 or so guys on losing team leave the server right before round ends. What they don't know is it still counts as a lost round in their stats. We always can't be on the winning team. No one likes to be on the losing team but it's part of the game. I've been in servers where admins switch them back to losing team. Then some admins just kick them. I like it when the admin switches them back then kicks them. That's why autobalance is nice keeps teams form geting stacked and stops all the team switchers at end of round.

I'd love it if DICE just gave the WCR to everybody. Then, everyone who padded their way to it would hopefully realize how much time they wasted trying to grow their e-penises.
