How do I get more players into my BF2 server ?

Right... My server (87.117.197.10:16567) has been up for two days... it's been a little busy at times, but needs ten or so people to join the server. There's only five people in my clan at the moment, so we need even more members of the public to join, just how ?

I've already made it high points, 24/7 karkand, what more can i do to attract people!! ?? - Seriously!!

There have been a couple times we've had it full, but not as full as i would like it..

I have two options

1: Leave it and wait for it to become noticed and to become more popular

or

2: Spam these forums like fuck with the server IP. (thats a joke... )

Do what i said. It works. Call it 'Knife and pistol only'. Do not actualy play to these rules, peopl will just join anyway

I am considering starting a server ring. Or server networking. What will happen is a few clans will commit to joining other people servers on certain nights. They will need to have a minimum of 4 people join from their squad. Basicaly we will be hopping in each others server alternating nights . When the servers get going they usually arent hard to keep up. Let me know if anyone is intersted. We are US based.

16-24/7 karkand, mashtuur, dilan, infantry only
32-Karkand/wake only

There are already tons of 24/7 Karkand servers out there!

I would pick like 3 of the top played maps. Run each one twice.

There are two types of maps! Ground Pounder and Air Maps! Pick one type of game play and run only one those types of maps for a few weeks and see what happens. if it's not doing anything change it!

What ever maps you run is what you should put as a server name, not your clan name.

People that are looking for good long maps times, look for 64 player maps with 24-36 players.

People that play with freinds, want to play on the same side. So they look for servers with Autobalance off!

FF: On is something may people look for!

Maps start times of 20 seconds will atrack people with slower loading puters!

Your server sig should reflect a little about your server rules. Don't waste that space with some flashy sig no one cares about!

The most important would be if you allow camping or not. (The servers I play on say something like "Base camping to an extent is allowed so STFU and play!" or "War is hell, we kick people not having fun!")
you can go into a little more detail in the server message.

It took us forever to get our server up and running all the time, then our server provider dissapeared on us and we had to start all over again. All I can say is have patience. If you can get it going it should go for awhile and eventually you will have people returning and playing more often in your server and you wont have any problems.

Leave at least one person in there at all times. When I search, I use the populated filter so I don't have to weed through all the empties. That helps a little. But if you did edit it to have naked women and free blow jobs....that would help too!!!

- 32 slots
- 64 mapsize
- normal rules, not something like "no vehicle stealing!!!" or "no GL laming"
- no fake admins who play like there god, thats probably the most important one.
