i hope that link works for a while, long enough for people to see it, but basically it says that 4 out of every 10 american adults play video games. Proof that us adults help drive this market, more so than the kids that the games are supposed to be geared towards as well, according to the dollar figures that we spend each year on these games.

one thing i found funny in there is that to them, a hardcore gamer is one who spends three hours or more a week on video games... lol, where do i stand then at around 10-15 a week just on BF2 alone????

Games were aimed towards kids 10-15 years ago, to establish the market. Now that we are the market, and we have the money to support it, it is aimed at us.

Evidence? Look what happened to Nintendo.

Times change, and follow the money. They were smart. They knew adults 15 years ago wouldn't be down for spending money on video games. What to do? Raise the kids with them, so they'll spend the money when they become adults.

It was a well executed plan.

Nintendo pwns the console market. Sony and Microshaft are trying to keep up. OT im almost 26 years old and been playing video games since Super Mario Bros on the origional NES. Ur right, ive went from my parents buying me games to spending much of my hard earned cash on games and systems.
