That is my walk-through of the highlights of the new BF2142 trailer. I run a gaming center, so I always hold my breath and try to duck under all the hype of new games.....but this shit is very, very hot-looking.

shure it looks hot.. at the begining i did not like it.. but now im waiting for its realease. anyway i dont think hardcore bf2 guys are droping it, but if this shit is good enogh it can bring another market segment to the franchise by its own.

I agree. I also keep in mind the rumors and promises by EA to produce a Battlefield 3, which will be the next logical progression in a video game that features modern, if not slightly near-future, combat.

2142 looks like it is going to be a splinter....like an official mod. It still looks like a LOT of fun, though.

I will definitely be buying 2142. Looks like a lot of intense scenarios.  I still hope to make Colonel, so I have a lot of game play and I definitely will get my money out of BF2. I'm just saving more money for a gaming rig, hopefully by the end of the summer.

EA also says this game is coming out this fall. I was disappointed to hear that because I figure it means that support and expansion of BF2 will stop in favor of the new game.

BUT, keep in mind that this is EA we are talking about.....BF2142 is probably not going to rear it's futuristic head until early next year.

And, so long as EA keeps coming up with neat-o stuff for BF2, I'm perfectly fine with that.

The whole "Titan" thing screams "Star Wars Death Star".  I love the whole Star Wars thing but Battlefield is not the franchise I want to see turn to this.

Next up, we have the Mech's.  What we see is them laying waste to troops as well as a tank.  The APC's just run through, launch their troops, then probably die so the whole suicide thing is still alive and well.  It's just not Jihad Jeeps anymore.

At this point, Quake Wars still looks like it's going to be the better game.  As I've said before, I'll give both a try on Friday when I hit E3 so I'll have a much more informed opinion by then.

I think the Titan bit is less like Death Star and more like....putting your UAV, Radar, and Artillery inside of a gigantic floating Essex.

If you want to start complaining about the evolution of a game.....Strike at Karkand is NOT the game I wanted to see Battlefield turn into.

lol i dont mind this new mod of bf2 as long as EA makes sure to get back 2 their roots and make a realistic game like BF3 thats just awsome to play a little bit of sci fi is fine but i like the real grunt game EA has had prior to BF2142

my analysis is that its gonna be full of bugs and when it comes out, EA is gonna screw us all over regarding BF2

I'm not quite sure I agree with you on this one.  In the case of the typical commander assets, you don't lose the game when they're all blown up.  The goal of Titan rounds is the destruction of these ships, which is pretty much how the Death Star scenes went in the movies and video games.

As for Karkand, it's only one map   Even if it's a problem, it's merely showing a downward trent in quality

Maybe it will be just like BF2 incomplete and then patch the hell out of it. Or nerf or overpower classes making the awards, medals, ribbons and badges a joke.

And specking of that what will happen to all the time and effort some of use put in to get those awards can I clone my BF2 solider and get some amount of value for the time and money I spent as a loyal costumer. EA showe some love to your loyal consumers
