Hey guys I have played a lot of pre-BF2 and have recently joined up on BF2.
I love it, great features that make it a lot more fun (ie stats and awards rankings, and medals!)

but my question is, can you unlock guns as one unit? meaning I play as the medic mainly, and is it possible to unlock all the guns with just using the medic or do I need to play as different units for different guns?

You just need points, So any Kit you want, But for Certain Medals / Awards / Badges, You will have to Use other Kits.

you can unlock any gun you want when it comes time to unlock weapons, even if you've never played any other class then medic

You can unlock guns even if you don't play as that class.

I barely play support but I have the unlocks, I play sniper so much but I barely shoot with the rifle. Etc. Etc.

But there are tier 1 and 2 unlocks, vanilla unlocks are tier 1, SF are tier 2. As the name goes, you'll need to have the tier 1 before you can get the tier 2. I hope that helps!

Basically, it work like this. You get a rank (http://ubar.bf2s.com/) then you get your choice of first tier unlocks. You can pick any gun you want, even if you don't use that class, but you can't go back and change your choice, it's permanent. However, if you get special forces, you also get the choice of any second tier unlocks, along with getting two unlocks per rank.

And you need the first tier unlock for a given class before you can get the second tier unlock for it.
