already have a post + poll on this....

I can't decide if EA will carry over stats or create new ones.  Carry over stats means new players will get pwned and there will be a huge n00b outcry, but keeping stats will attract more players from BF2 who might not by the game otherwise.  I will not buy the game if stats transfer because the point values will have to be very low and people like Sgt Maxpower who aren't the best of players will have these uber weapons that make them near un-killable by your average player.

I would love to have a new ranking system,

Would mean I could regain those medals, and see how fast I can get em

Why do people think that stats are going to carry over? They are 2 different games, one looks completly shithouse and the other (current one) is great.

carry over stats? are you kidding. they wouldnt do it nor could they if they wanted to. they dont even have the same guns, vehicles or anything. different classes even. its not a decision that EA can make, its your decision to switch games that will ultimately abandon your stats for bf2.

completely different game (although same game engine <-- lol ). id like to say that i understand your pain, but i loled instead. sorry. its just foolish to think that your medals for ribbons or even your rank will be saved and carried over to game that doesnt have the same guns, etc.

secondly, those who have worked hard on their ranks and medals etc should have known better. that too is foolish to think that people playing BF2 are creating a legacy of somesort. lets not complain, just live with the fact that all good things come to an end. and your stats reflect what you accomplished during your time in the game.

so enjoy our bf2 days... i know i will.

Hahaha. Oh cmon, not everyone is gonna buy bf 21345 whatever... and the stats aint certainly going to get carried to that. Like many have stated it's a totally different game. And it's not like the stats are the most important thing playing the game. The fun playing it is.

Well I checked the link from E3 and watched some videos and I tell ya' that the main reason I will buy the game is the new award system that looks to be more promesing to what we have now in terms of getting new unlocks/upgrades/ranks quicker than now. But that sci-fi crap really doesn't work for me no matter what they say that they won't use lasers and all other crap.

We'll see when the demo comes out. For now I'm pounding my rank as high as I can - and to the people who say they play for fun - it's their problem - I play for ranks so stop dissing and be cool

I'm not hip on the sci-fi crap either. There are plenty of other quality titles out there if that's what I was looking for.

I too will review the demo and see what it's like. It'll make or break it for me.
