Spec Ops and Snipers have them cause its in their function. Spec Ops: "infiltration" and sniper: the one that cannot be found.

So really, change pistols wouldnt bring major difference.
Everyone risks their life to WIN the game.  Medics do it for points, plain and simple.  You would find very few medics who would actually bother to revive at all if they didn't get any points for it.  It's what a medic DOES.  By that logic, Assault should get 4 points for every kill.  That's my opinion anyways
I'm just saying that properly on their function, I respect and play all abilities, I'm just saying that if you study their function, to give them a silent pistol would be clearly useless.
Point according to different classes, well thats another discussion that I'd be glad to continue Spearhead.

I think only Carbines should have silencers.

But then again, silencers are practically pointless. As soon as you are shot, the red marks show which direction you are being fired at.

If silencers were added, make it so that there is reduced firepower and accuracy, but doesnt indicate the red hit marks. It could be fun to see someone getting shot, then running away, unaware that he is running towards the Spec Ops.

Or make it only Spec Ops have silencers AND they have the power to equip silencers on whatever kit they pick up... well except for shortgun .

Snipers with silencers would be impossible to spot and hear so it would make all the players go l96a1 whoring and you'll say: OMG everybody's using silenced sniper rifles!! Fuck DICE they are making bf2 shit again!!!! and so on.
SpecOps aren't considered to be a class for long range shooting so adding a silencer for their guns (maybe only SCAR and G36 would work better) would make them more useful than now.

Yeah... the Eryx need a Silencer...
Not for obvious silence reasons, but only because I want to see how that would look like. XD

I think the Sniper/Spec Ops Handgun should be the only ones silenced.
It doesnt give you much advantage anyway.
Once a Sniper has to use the Gun hes either been spotted or had to leave his spot.
And in both situations hes most likely spotted because of sight, not because of the sound of his gun.
In a serious firefight I spot a sniper by letting him shoot at me not by listening.
He shoots at me I see the muzzle flash and get him either way immediately or I respawn as sniper myself.
The Sniper already has two of the most dangerous weapons, a Sniper Rifle and the Claymores, so giving him an SD Rifle would still be too much.

Spec Ops however need a gun to sneak around in the enemy base destroying commander assets.
So they could need a silenced Rifle, MP5SD maybe but then strip them from the silenced Pistol.

Either way... there'd be a lot of crying threads to get those changes out of the game because the kit is overpowered. ^^
