looking good for the stage you are at.
play around with the different kits available and the different weapons for each kit, this way you learn the pros and cons of each kit. for example city maps with less vehicles and more close quater battles you can go medic, assualt, support, larger maps with more vehicles go engineer, anti-tank, spec ops.

Play around with different combinations aswell, i.e. go engineer and get into a tank or apc - this way u can fix it yourself and you dont have to worry about someone else helping you out. or go the anti-tank kit and get into a tank, i find this is usefull aswell because u can shoot one shot from your tank, release some smoke from the armour, jump out and fire one shot from your anti-tank rocket, then get back into the tank and fire another shot from the tank. u will always come out on top!

find yourself a good pilot for the helicopter and get into the gunner seat and practice at that. can be good fun!

Ouch. Well, nothing personal, but they're terrible.

From all I can tell, you are new to the game, and might well be new to FPS games in general. From the looks of it, you hold your own best with the Support kit, so I'd say stick with that for now. When you get accustomed to many of the ins and outs of the game, try another kit like Medic.

It seems that your situational awareness needs some improvement from the low K/D ratio and low SPM. Try spending more time observing your surroundings and keeping an eye out for enemies, and less charging around shooting the first thing you see. Keep the corner of your eye focusesed on the mini-map, and glance at it occasionally to see what is around. Also, try using crouch and prone a lot prior to shooting someone, it will help increase your accuracy. Also, make sure you are firing in bursts when using automatic weapons, or it can get really accurate, really quickly.

A big part of improving your stats is just getting used to the game and FPS games in general, which will only come with time. Since I don't know your history with these type of games, I can't say whether your progress is average, better or worse.

Just some tips, don't take it personally. Everyone sucks at first.

If it's of any reference, I've been playing these kind of games since these kind of games existed.

Just keep at it. Learning the maps is a big deal in how you handle yourself in game, and will improve the situational awareness I referred to in my previous post.

There is a lot more to these games than pointing and shooting, which is all it seems to be on the outside. Knowledge of the guns, the classes, the maps, the vehicles, and how everything works together are all important aspects of success in the game.

ye, i agree, although ive seen worse. you need to improve your ratios, try to get a positive ratio with a kit. try improving your vehicle skills as this is a great way of getting a good k:d ratio (ignore anyone who says vehicles r 4 n00bs. in fact ignore anyone who uses the phrase n00b a lot, and seriosly). armour abd claymores are very good for for ratios. also try to find a squad of experienced players to watch your back.

if you play engineer most, you should have more repair points - that is my opinion

Heh...I swear I replied to this thread. Must have been the wrong one LOL.

Go play Quake and learn to aim. Your weapon stats suck.
It wouldn't hurt you to go near a plane, either.

What's up with that? That means no planes by the way (to someone that said use planes)...but i don't really understand how you can't play normal BF2.

If you like playing Engineer, try to use Armor/repair stuff more often.

Your stats are not bad at all, especially for someone that doesn't really play FPS' that much.  The only thing I would say is stop playing SF Karkand (Warlord) so much, there are some other good SF maps.  Although if you can't play reg BF2, then I see where you are coming from.

I would bascially just work on getting good with the standard assault rifles on the city maps, maybe as a medic so you can stay alive longer, everything else stems from that. Personally I like Warlord and Ghost Town, I wouldn't go on night maps yet. Once you can effectively use the assault rifle move on to bigger maps and learing to fly/pilot vehicles. (If you even like that stuff.)

Since you are like me in that you'd never played online multiplayer FPS games before, you're probably not doing too horrible......your score per minute is decent enough, but your K/D ratio is sup-par which probably means you love running into fire fights just to see if you can rack up points, but in the meantime you're getting cut in half by machine gun fire and the like.

I'll echo what Torin said and that is to, for now.....get used to one kit that you feel comfortable with.  That way instead of worrying about the ins and outs and ups and downs of all the different kits.........you can get more accustomed to the game itself and the combat setting.  This is what I did when I started because I was completely lost.  This game was a big change from online Starcraft and Warcraft.  So, I actually played Anti Tank for most of the 220 hours or so it took me to reach First Sergeant (playing the other kits just enough to get the basic badges).  It was only after that I really tried playing other kits.  I'm sure you don't have to stick with one kit for that long though.

Not bad begginnings sir.  I think Torin gave you the best advice in fact I think everyone can learn from this man hahha.  Just keep it up, eventually you'll have more kills than deaths and then you can start improving your ratios.  +1 for Torin, he summed it up.

Everyone starts off struggling.  My first few months on Bf2 would make you look like a professional player!!

Re-iterating what's been said, you need to expand your play a bit, although I wouldn't concentrate on just one kit.  Play them all.  When you die, see who/what killed you and respawn in a kit suited for that task (i.e AT or sniper)  Claymores are good at defending flags that you know infantry only can get to and learn to use the pistol and knife.  The Support classes are good, but it takes time to get prone and start firing - sometimes too long.  Whip out the pistol and fire like mad - 1/2 the time, to your surprise your target goes down.

If you are gonna use vehicles (and I suggest you do), be an Engineer.  Don't be afraid to jump out and place AT mines or repair your vehicle where you know vehicles are gonna go.  Use every piece if your kit's inventory - it's nice to see a kill pop up long after you forgot that you placed At mines down!

If you're going to try for a particluar badge, then work at.  It will come, so don't give up.  Armour and PAC's are a great aid to getting your required kills for a Vet or expert badge, but don't rely on them so practice.

Lastly - Keep one eye on your Radar screen/map at all times.  Be aware where the empty vehicles are and what enemy is about and where.  The UAV will save your life!!

And good luck!
