saw the 06 E3 trailer for QW. and several actual in game out of screen views of some people playing it at E3. all i have to say is WOW. +1000

2142 looks nice. but i think i will be sticking to bf2, until QW comes out.


i just hope it is ranked. i guess i got spoiled by ranking, but i love the ranking system in use on bf2. it really keeps the game unqiue

lets hope cyrisis is multi threaded fully. so at least my x2 will be able to run it nicely. and have 2 7800's

I know it's very early on, but don't you get the feeling that maybe, just maybe the groundpounders among us are going to be useless in this game? it looks like vehicles only wins. and as for the "drone" that comes with a squad leader.....ghey!?  sure he'll make himslef known and what not but good luck killing him with his AI guardian blasting away at you.

I'll demo it but as I said I think grounpounders are gonna get the broomstick treatment in this one.

The drones kinda suck. It's a little slow on the "oh, an enemy is there" script.

Also, ground pounders are highly useful -- in the titan attack. Those were the most fun ground battles anyway.

They should keep the graphics system the same because we can't all have a money whenever we want it and/or a super-dooper eat the fuckin game right the fuck up gaming rig.  It wouldn't be fair to those of us with shittier computers so I think they should keep the graphics engine the same.  Until you all started talking about the graphics being behind most next-gen games, I didn't even think about the graphics for 2142.

The other part of my post:

The drones look cool but how do they work?

Do they spawn with you or do you have to activate them?

Do they last as long as your life of do they explode after a certain amount of time?

Does the UAV drone emit a constant scan or does it run out of juice after a period of time?

Remember how much we loved the last Battlefield Game that Had 4 classes: Battlefield Vietnam. As long as they don't give the Anti tank Guy a machine gun it should be for the better this time.

Also, auto turrets and stealth are almost never fun in multiplayer.

I hope Dice knows what they are doing...

LoL @ afrojaps failed pod launch and the "titan reactor exploding, omg run!!" too funny.

Can't wait to destroy the enemies titan. Hope it's as fun as it looks.

Anyone who has ever played with bots knows this delay response very well. Probably just took the usual bot AI and stuck it in a drone and then told it it couldn't leave a certain radius of the SL. I wonder if their aim is set on Veteran or Expert...

do the drones fire at will  ( i.e. engage any target that approaches ) or will they fire at whoever you fire on yourself ? Can you direct their fire somehow ?

The drones engaged at any enemy target that approached...in effect, adding one more member of fire support to your squad.  The flipside of this is that if you engage it, the enemy will know exactly who the squad leader is and you'll make yourself a good target.

The support class can also drop sentry guns, which worked REALLY well when placed properly.  The sentry gun remains on standby until an enemy approaches.  When it senses an enemy, it sounds an alarm that is quite audible and just begins firing.  The guns are relatively weak to balance it out, but they are quite effective for defense, especially when you need to defend your Titan reactor core.

I thought the drones were only for squad leaders actually.  Does the UAV drone recharge it's scan for multiple uses or does it only do it once per life?  Do you activate the UAV with the spawning mechanism?

I like new mods, who doesnt like new games from your favorite? Sure it may have less things BF2 Had, but I love the feeling of future.

OK, we might have some communication erorrs here.  The Squad Leader gets two types of floating attack drones, while all of the player classes can carry along pickable items from the weapon select screen.

The Support class can bring along a handheld UAV device that works for a short period of time.  It looks like a little remote control and it generates a UAV radar swath in your area, allowing you to reveal enemies to the rest of your teammates.  Basically, one support guy can be a mobile UAV generator for the entire team. 
The UAV generator lasts for a short while, and takes a little while to charge back up, rather than the current time a UAV has in BF2.

I thought the UAV thing was for assault, that's what it shows in the pics from what I remember.  I also thought that it was just an attack drone and a UAV drone, not two drones like you said.  Chuy was probably right.  Nvm, wait for him to answer it, you're confusing me.
