know this has been spoken of before but i feelt the urge to do it again damn those gunners who dares to sit in the chopper without the knowledge of using the TV-missile
Had 4 different Co-gunners today noone fired one single Tv..... lined up blackhawks, tanks etc but no missile! just some silly machinegun-fire i mean come on it ain´t that hard i can teach a monkey to use that missile i don´t care if they miss 100 shots in a row as long as they try.

I love killing unsuspecting choppers with it. One of these days I'm going to get me a damned J10 with it too.

I don't bother wasting the maching gun on a tank. If I miss, I tell the pilot to get out of dodge. We can kill him on the next shot.

if u got a gunner try to get in is team so u can tallk with him
its very hard to get a chooper with tv missle when the chooper is moving
and very easy to hit a tank. apc etc..
its all about the pilot if u r a good pilot ur gunner will be able to do is job
i was a lot of time with pilots that dosnt give u what u need to use the tv missle
and says WTF SHOOOT WITH TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U NOOOOBBBB!!!

I've been able to get attack choppers with it. The calls of "Hax!" was music to my... er... eyes...

And yeah, I do what DSRTurtle does too.

I had an excellent pilot once. He basicly just hovered there and let me do the killing. I was honoured that he trusted me enough to do it. He only fired his missiles if my gun was overheated and my TVs were re-loading. It was then I perfected my TV art, and stated getting the Blackhawks and Cobras and whatnot. Great fun!

That's what a good pilot is supposed to do. Its great to find a gunner who has the same concept of the whole thing as I have. I hover at an appropriate altitude, and both spot targets. I line up for the shot, and if the TV-missile doesn't take the enemy chopper/tank/apc/stinger/etc out, I either do a hellfire-dive, or fly to a "safe zone" for the TV-reload and reaquire the target. When the pilots and gunners minds work in unison, it makes for an enjoyable game. So what if the pilot only gets 5 or 6 kills? With some maneuvering, the deaths will be less, and driver kill assists make up a bit for lost kills. Because it's nice to see the medals at the end of the round distributed e.g. like this:

Gold: Gunner (e.g. 135)
Silver: Commander of the winning team (e.g. 88)
Bronze: Pilot (e.g 76)

OK, so the pilot doesn't get:

a) a good KDR
b) a good kill streak
c) supakool badges and ribbons
d) shiny Gold medals
e) His name on the enemy's "you were killed by"

So what?

IMO A good pilot tries hard to forget about his own ego, for it is exactly that, which will kill him and his gunner.

I do have some ego issues when piloting, but I try hard..

When choppering around with my regular gunner, we have also sometimes been called hackers.. And yes, it's fun to read these kinds of commentaries from frustrated opponents!

I was fortunate enough to once fly with a pilot that lined me up for 2 shots on an apache in surge. Quite a good pilot and the Apache didnt go up again for the rest of that map I believe..

I've had 3 great chopper pilots.
1 from my clan. He is helping me learn to be a better chopper pilot.

1 from another clan that I regulary play with. They have a couple of great bomber pilots who I've LGM'd for and done great.

And 1 guy I didn't even know who said get in. The last guy was really good. I had 13 kills in the chopper before getting kicked out of the game completely for some unknown reason. When I got back I was teamswitched. Thanks to him, I was able to get my Good Conduct Ribbon though. I was also 13 and 1 before getting booted to my desktop. One of those rounds everyone loves to have.

Well said...so fed up with the pilot looking at the Tgt you switch to TV and all you can see is the ground...then the pilot telling you your crap for not wasting a TV when you cant see the Tgt...Line us up we will use em...until then I will Tank whore thank you

I bet you never talked them through using the TV missile either? Not in a squad and got VOIP with your gunner?

you sound so upset of course i throw them some word if they decide the machineguns is a much better weopon on a target 200-300m away, and when you fly with some random guy it´s not that necessary to talk to them sure it helps but uhmm it´s pretty clear when to use a TV and not ( And Voip is pretty crappy imo i rarely hear what guys say coz of languageissues from both me and them )

I have just come across so many players that don´t seem to know it exist or use it to take out infantry and machinegun the tanks...

I totally agrre when the pilot on the other hand keeps thinking be´s lining you up targets when you you only see the sky/sea, but it´s hillarius if he start to yell at you to use the TV when that happens though

its easy to say, that you have a bad gunner, its like few kids playing outside and something went wrong, "he did it...no it was him...*points*..."
i can't fly a chopper cause its to much work with the mouse/keyboard, i think a joystick would help me allot, but still im a baddass gunner... all i need in a battle is a good helipilot...but they seems to be kinda rare these days...to many selfish players tbh...i think communication is the way idd...if gunner wants to shoot his tv guided missile he "needs" to talk with the pilot to get the target in a good line...i choose the momment to shoot the tv missile cause in a heli fight thats the thing that get you killed, shoot it to fast and other knows you reloading so he can take bit risk to get your chopper down...so "TS, Ventrilo, ect" use that stuff, its helpfull software...
