I'm just wondering how many of you have ever experienced hardware failure in your BF2 server? I've seen BF2 servers do some crazy things, but this is the first time I've had this happen. This is what our hosting company said:
"About 90 minutes ago we were made aware of a Hard Drive failure on AYS2, which your game server was located on.
A replacement hard drive has been installed, and an OS Reload is currently taking place. Once complete, we will be loading the game engines needed back onto this machine, and installing all instances involved.
We greatly apologize for this inconvenience. Please be assured we are doing everything we possibly can to make sure your services come back online as quickly as possible."
I was happy that they emailed me to let me know what the problem was, so I'm not upset about this. No one can truly prevent things like this from happening. I'm hoping our server will be back up soon.
If you've experienced something like this, tell us about your experience. Was the hosting company helpful or did they suck? I'm curious to know how other people handled it.
