When I first played this game I thought it wasn't that good. But then I realized you could go commander and you get ranks! and unlocks
What other game has ranks?, thats what I think made this game so popular
how about you?

Definatly because theres a purpose to playing, instead of just winning each round like other RPGs you set goals to get medals new ranks etc.

So yea, the rank and scoring system definatly.

there are many things that make this game soo bloody good.

as you say you have the ranks which makes people want to play the game to reach a certain score to get the new rank which then means a new unlocked weapon. once u reach the rank you were aiming to get at you then think "heck the next rank is only 1000/5000/10000,/30000 points away so i might aswell keep playing till i get that rank".
the unlocks are addictive because you will get to you new rank then think "heck it is midnight and i am working tomorrow but i am just going to play a bit more to try out this new weapons to see how good it is".

all the different classes help to keep people playing. there are 6 good kits to choose so if you get bored with one kit then you can find new joys with another kit.

the different vehicles in the game also make it soo good.

ahhh man there are loads of things!

The concept of modern combat
Stats are nice , you can detect on it that ur getting better.
I like the guns and vehicles
and ofcourse the maps

yeah i have to agree with most people here.

the fact why most people keep playing is the stats.
most people are by default stat whores and we like the stats because they are saved in our BFHQ and we can check them up at sites like bf2s.com and then we can link friends to our stats to show of how good we are.

Yeah anotehr reason why some keep playing is the team play wich at times can be exellent but most people i think simply play for the stats. As with it u can measure if ur gettign better or worse.

The main reason this game is so addictive is because it blends vehicles and infantry brilliantly. No other game does this as far as I know. This is why BF1942 and BFV were so popular.

Stats, ranks, and unlocks are addons - mind you, popular ones.

It's the only game I know of that has modern combat, including arms, vehicles, and aircraft; No futuristic garbage like flying battleships, giant mech warriors, see-through camouflage, and blue laser weapons. Oh, wait...

The next best thing to BF2 IMO is, was Joint Operations. Compare the two and you see why this game is so popular. Wasn't it tagged as the game Joint Op's wished it was?

It's fun, you dont need to contiunually pay to play, you get unlocks, ranks, it has squad based voip, the option to be commander, great vehicles, great maps, you can communicate though chat on screen, with the help of "3rd party software" you can locate mates within the BF2 maps and join them, the game is fun whilst frustrating so it offers a fresh challenge, no 2 rounds are the same, .................. thats just a few reasons why I like it.
