Personally, I am quite fond of the M16A2. I kick serious ass with it on Leviathan and other night maps, where you can't use the G36E. I used the L85A1 exclusively before getting the G36E, and it puts you at a MAJOR disadvantage at all ranges against others. I was practically avoiding enemy infantry with it.
i used to be in love with the L85A1 till i picked up a squad mates G36E (at the time i didnt have SF) and i fell in love with it...
I prefer the Single shot long range accuracy of the L85A1 but close quarters sucks the big one...
It took about 2 weeks of play to get used to the G36E burst fire but man do i love it, 2-3 bursts and youre a dead man...
G36E > 101 > L85A1 IMO
101 > L85A1 only cause the damage that thing puts out in a hurry! but not for long range....
and i love whoevers comment was "G36E > anything but artillery" Classic... except when you get n00btubed!

36e owns all medic guns .... sorry.
l85A1 is terrible at prone! It's inaccurate in automatic too. G36E has burst mode, so it's usually just 2 burst at enemy and hes dead. Not to mention, G36* weapons are very accurate.
edit: Now someone gave me -1 just because I think that L85A1 is inaccurate at prone. Man, even wiki says that it sucks in prone. He even hasn't got balls to leave his name.

the L85A1 is a good gun, but i like the M16A1; i wish the M16 was full auto, then it would be my %100 fav gun in tha game.... it would also even it up cuz MEC and PLA both have fully automatic guns and the USMC only has burst and the L85A1(which to me doesnt seem very accurate
The g36e sucks big time in close quarters. Full-auto on the L85A1 is a lot more useful if you often find yourself in places like the palace or the tv station on Warlord. It all depends on where you are going to be and then deciding which gun to use (which is how you should probably also determine your kit).
However, as seen from the info taken from here, the ak's are completely useless outside of close quarters combat. The g36e's are obviously the master of medium to (semi)long-range combat. However, the best middle-ground gun is the L85A1, with the full-auto and decent medium-range capability (not to mention a better zoom) make it the most versatile of the medic guns.

erm... Something you need to learn, medic's arn't a support class, medics are the main class, medics need to be able to take out enemies at any range, fast. Any half-decent player will tell you the AK is the best gun in the game, hands down. The l85a1 is easily the worst medic gun, it gets inaccurate after 2-3 shots, the only use for it is sniping long range, and you have to be prone and zoomed in, and zooming in is bad, nobody likes zooming in, which is why the ak owns so hard, it can score long range headshots unzoomed while standing (not very often, but often enough). No gun pisses me off more than the L85A1, mostly because whenever i play US the whole round basically consists of me looking for an AK, and after the 10th MEC medic kit i pick up is the L85 i get a bit anoyed. G36E is better than the m16, but its an SF unlock so it loses.Fretzli wrote:
The following statement does best describe the average users of each weapon, there are some exceptions, admittedly.
AKs: Either low rank or people who favour quite a big punch. They get into fights too often, so they've got a lack of teamplay.
L85A1: People who have played medic for some time and mastered they aiming behaviour of the L85A1, best teamplay of all these groups. The scope encourages its users to take some distance to opponent so the medic isn't always the first to die.
G36E: Oh dear, this weapon has managed to get the most morons playing medic. It's easily mastered, has a high rate of fire and is quite accurate and that's its problem. It's always nice to see a horde of crazy G36E-wielding berserks charging but is it really that difficult to use first aid or shock paddles?
The order of skillez:
default guns > unlocks > sf unlocks > mounted guns (including jeeps) > armour > helicopters > planes
(if you use any of the above you're automatically better than anyone who uses something below that (not necessarily in skill, just generally a better person))
It really all depends on the situation at hand. If you are in a small squad, then you need to be more in the thick of it. Therefore choose the weapon that YOU are the most comfortable with and have the most success with in that situation. In a larger squad, you may be hanging back more and picking people off that are getting to the sides and behind your mates. Again, you choose the weapon that you are most comfortable with in those situations. I like the L85A1, but I am not that good anyways. So you can just throw all this out the window if you want.
Love using it in Warlord
I agree. All of the guns have their place. The G36E is a good all around gun, but sometimes a full auto gun is better. The AK's are great for short-to-medium ranges, and I'll generally use them on Karkand and Sharqi. The M-16 is about the same as the G36E, although a bit less accurate and such. The L85A1 is a good replacement for the M-16 as well as being used on maps where you're more likely to engage the enemy at medium-to-long range. The scope on it really helps place the anti-sniper shots.Slickfish wrote:
I love the L85A1, however if you fire in bursts of more than 2 rounds you have no hope.
At distance it rocks, like all the weapons if you learn to use its strong points you'll come to love it like every other weapon on the game.
Its down to your own taste. When I first started the game, I loved the AK and have never been a big fan of the M16, only due to the fact that you cannot ever go full auto - which really sucks. Hard.
My very first unlock was the L85A1 and I have never used another weapon whilst being Medic since.
Then, I got SF and unlocked the G36E to see what the big rave was all about, and I have been less than impressed with it to say the least. Mainly due to the fact that it, just like the M16, cannot go full auto. I just find that its hard to seriously kick ass with it.
Every player has their own taste in weapons. I love the L85A1 and can use it very efficiently, including standing up. Full auto at close range is where it is superb. The recoil sucks, but that doesnt matter if you can USE the gun. Then, you have a scope, an easy to use crosshair, high accuracy and good hitting power for medium/long range where you can go on single shot if you wish.
At the end of the day, its down to the player. No one gun is better than another - its all down to how a player uses that gun and how proficient they are with it. For me, its always been the L85A1. Others, its the 36E. So what? Everyone has their own preferences and always will.
I will always take a weapon that has a full auto option over a weapon that can only do burst fire so that you stand a chance when you get those crazy close range situations.
Why every gun in the game cannot go full auto, burst fire and single shot I will never understand. Its always seemed ridiculous to me that it cannot be done.

IMO the G36E is the best weapon, it has great acc and good ROF. The only thing that people complain about is the lack of full auto. So what?? U can´t spray and pray with it... U have to aim with it??? The horror!!!
G36E FTW!!!
G36E FTW!!!

I cant handle the L85a1 yet, maybe someday. But I think we dont becomming the best friends. lol
Btw, its amazing how the unlocks working. Each weapon got his lovers and haters, and thats
shows how balanced they are. Good work dice! (and shame on you for the major bugs in 1.3)
I hate the L85A1, Always use G36E, M16A2, AK101. L85A1 and AK47 for the LOSS.

The problem with the L85a1 is that it doesn't have burst fire mode and after a few shots, it gets incredibly inaccurate. I would use it all the time, mostly for the scope, if it had burst fire. Since I'm not patient enough to shoot more accurately, I use the burst fire on the g36. It's a little less accurate at first but it's more accurate after a few shots and just two bursts of bullets will kill a guy.
I'm trying to get good with the L85... I seem to get raped by it, and it seemsl ike a good gun.
AK 101 period.
Well, what's that atop the L85A1, then?Darky wrote:

Get on mec and pull out an Ak101.. I said.... naa, unaccurate! he said, use it like a goddamn M16, and I did, and its goddamn accurate if u use burst. (there aint a burst option, but you can make ur own burst ;-))TheCanadianTerrorist wrote:
