G'day,

I went over my cable download limit today, and I keep getting kicked off the serevr by PB for 'Losing key packets'. Would this have something to do with the fact that I have 56k connection? Or is a whole different matter?

Really...how would you expect to play an online game if you reached your dowload limit?

While you play, your PC sends data to the server, you're playing on (upload) and also the server sends data to your PC (download). That makes possible for you to see where other players are, what are they doing and to see each other in sync...that's how the games work.

Note that both upload and download usually count towards your monthly data transfer limit. ISPs generally don't count only download. They count the amount of transferred data. Although for the general user - like you - the uploaded amount won't be a huge one. You can check it anytime if you click on the connection icon's status menu point. (or something like that, my XP is not english sry)

yeah i see where ur coming from, however wot i put my above post i know from personal experience, 2 weeks into my contract 1500/256 speed used my dl limit, got cut to somthin F'in rediculas 64.4gb or so, start playin, get kickd for losing packets, get told that maybe its punkbuster, go thru the pb rigmarole (dl'ing pbweb....etc....( nope still losing packets, ring isp, oh yeah u wont b able to play online games, to which i then went balistic which is another story for another time, needless to say, i was given an extra 7.7gig worth of dl, and my speed returned to wot it was.

Im 99.999% sure its cause he went over his limit.
